I saw your review of the show. Good points. While working on figure art, I was listening to the musical livestream two nights back. The cast agrees with you: there are mistakes in the animation (continuity errors) and the sound effects editor is embarrassed because he nested a shit ton of effects in the Alistor/Husk scene---knowing he was going to whittle them down---but forgot before the pilot launched. I did notice, after the second or third time watching the pilot (which I loved) that there were a few scenes where the staging was confused and muddled, especially the ones with Alister; but, I think that was Viv and crew trying to add silly flourishes---like the two eggs making out---that people, really tuned in, wouldn't notice until after an initial viewing. It was a well-intentioned albeit amateur mistake. I completely agree that the pacing is off, too, but I think the pacing is wrong in terms of number of frames per beat, making it harder to visually digest information. The sound editing only makes those beats that much more rushed, because we're busy digesting information sonically as well as visually.
Speaking of editing, nice work, yourself. I laughed my ass at the opening to your Vivzie art style review www.youtube.com/watch?v=URxwt-…, but I question the "broken shoulder" argument. Possibly because I can see the clear influence the 9 Old Men, specifically Bill Peet, Milt Kahl and Frank Thomas www.youtube.com/watch?v=zANV9X… www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEUoxQ…, had on her work. I agree that sometimes her shoulders are broken, but I think that has more to do with misunderstanding her influences and excusing her faults accordingly.
