Yes prisma was my first pencil and markers/ I still perfer the pencils over any kind but i have learned that the markers are not that great. they bleed alot. and they are not refillable. and copic has a lot more colors and the paint brush nib. I would say looking in to getting a few copic online and try them out.

So I found out it's alot harder to color when you don't have lighter colors. At my art store they're $6 a piece 0_o

That's just what I'm trying to do. Juts get a few shades of each color. I still need a waterproof outliner pen and a marker pad, too. They've been bleeding through my other sketch pads ^^u

they make copic paper. what i do is i have a clip board and put my drawing on that. but i first make sure i ink the darwing and make a photo copy then color the copy so if i mess up on the way i can start over^^

That's a good idea. I got some marker paper that works pretty well, but I'm out of luck as far as a scanner goes right now.

true. but you could always try the chores, of mowing grass or baby sitting. Sit down with your parents and tell them look i really want to get a few of these and i am will to do some stuff around the house or even the neighborhood. thats what i did when i was younger. it makes your parents think more of you

wow that does suck. I would think since Japan, where they are made is north of there that maybe when they send them to australia that the philippines is on the way.

whats the diffrence of the copic markers from the normal ones, Sketch & Ciao?
π: 0 β©: 1
MissTopaz In reply to Erin-Haiyashita [2008-05-06 15:19:35 +0000 UTC]
Alot has to do with the shape and the nibs (tips).
If you are a beginer to the copic markers Ciao is best. the marker its self is round. and has a brush nib and a Medium Broad nib. i think ciao has like 145 of the 322 colors.
Sketch marker is more of an oval shape. it has the same nibs. the marker is longer then the ciao. and that Sketch have all 322 of the colors
also the ciao tend to be just a tad cheaper but then since they are shorter they hold a bit less ink. both are refillable. so say you have a few that you always use like the skin colors. you can get ink and then you can refill them and that marker will last for many years. and also on both you can replace the nibs.
So in the end there are very few differences. most deal with the shape of the marker, the nibs, and the price. The best thing you can do is test them out, or buy one of each and try them. Even better is if you know a friend that has them ask if you can try them. ((i share, lol))
Does this help. I never know if what i says helps, hehe. If you have any more questions i am more then happy to help.

!!! I'd love to have that many copic markers!!
Sadly... I only have eight colors... including a colorless mixer. I bought them in Japan along with an instructional book, .too paper pad and an ink pen, and since it was in Japan it only cost about 40 dollars. Pretty good, considering how much copics are...

I never tried the Copic markers...I think I'll give them a try since the Prinsmacolor markers that I used are discontinued here in Montreal,Quebec, Canada.

Copic are wonderful. I love the paint brush end. but also that you can use the markers with the air brush system. and also they are refillable. they may cost a bit more then prisma markers but they are very much worth it. And i believe that Prisma are going to be bringing out a new line of markers but they are gonna be thin markers
