Thank you very much! Thought it needed a little livening up.

You even got the Rolls Royce engine cooler, and the spats are great. Thank-you.

Yes, a Rolls-Royce Kestrel engine I believe. Thanks a lot for the comment!

Only 550! They were up to over 1000hp in production and they were still slow!

I think the initial contract was signed in 1932-33, for 6 shillings and 2 pence, or vice/verse. At that time the high performance R.R. were in trials in Supermarine's  sea racers.

Surprising the British let Germany have any engines at all. I thought they were very strict about limiting aviation in Germany. So much so that I think German pilots had to be trained in "gliding clubs" early on.

Your right, about the gliding schools, but they were all ready very popular because of Otto.
As for the British, hey, it was the depression era for manufacturing, and any pence in a pocket.

I guess. It wasn't exactly a hefty order for the Germans either was it. Less than 20 I think.

At the time the Germans were leading the way in aerodynamics, but did not have any streamlined V-engines, just their bulky radials, and the R.R. was the most reliable inline.

Oh, right. A result of all that gliding no doubt. They sure learned fast once the war started though.
