Happy Holidays Everyone!

I tried to do a classic lolita, I really did, but this "unintentional fairy" insisted on leafy clothing, pointy ears, and a set of wings, so here you go... Lolita Fae

Oh, almost forgot... was my reference for the pose. Thanks

man the way you do gossamer wings with color pencil is just so neat looking. You manage an iridescent texture in them that I MUST know how to do. Do you use any particular method or mix of colors to do wings such as these?

*blushes* Thank you

I start with the white outline drawn quite heavily, then fill in the wings with a light layer of white in long strokes. Then I take a darker color, in this case the turquoise where needed, and do some detailing. I then go over that with more white for blending in some areas and also add a little light blue in other areas over the begining colors to add some depth and iridescence. Hope this helps It's hard to explain without showing you in person.

The Prismacolor pencils I used for these wings were:

White
Peacock Blue
Deco Blue

I think it's all that texture that really makes it look wonderful. I'll have to try that method when next I do wings. Thanks for taking the time to explain!
