I know I promised that I would be making XIII-2 weapons (lol technically this guy is a weapon), but this opportunity just came up out of nowhere!My friends were having a make-your-own weapon pillow fight and I also saw made a Mog of her own. I also found this tutorial on making a 3D plush [link] , and I had extra foam cushion lying around. pretty much the stars aligned on this one... it did take me a whole night to finish this since I had to make a plush form and pin the fabric down everywhere. All my friends finished their work when I just finished cutting out the pattern xD
It was my first time using a sewing machine for myself, but since it is mechanical it was a fast learning curve for me and I felt pro after a few hours. Obviously since it was my first time sewing by machine and making a plush I messed up on the pattern a little, but it can be easily fixed when I have the time. I feel so much more familiar with the sewing machine that I am confident I can fully make my own cosplays now! Anyways, to make up for the flaws I stuffed this little treasure hunter silly so it is ridiculously huggable!
I am still not done with this guy because I just had this ridiculously awesome idea (thanks to ) that I wanted to try, but I need to dig into my junk pile for a while. Also many thanks to all my friends for creating/hosting a DIY weapons pillow bloodshed.
I am also afraid this plush will get dirty so should I make a thick acrylic seal over the whole thing? Should I make another one to auction at Katsucon? I would like to know your opinion on this!

can you get foam cushion in stores? i dont wanna get foam cushion from my couches xD or whereever yu might find it

sorry, i wouldn't know where else to look for cushion foam. I believe they do sell it in walmart or online

i basically cut the cushion foam with a box cutter and ripped small pieces off with my hands. the cushion foam is only a squishy base on which i can pin and trace out the plushie to stuff with something else later
if you cant find a cushion foam online then you should try to looking for places where they toss out furnitures

What exactly did you use to make it light up? And what were the procedures?

i broke apart a very strong led (200 lumens, lights up a whole room) and connected it to a usb port(emergency iphone charger), it is unstable and hot because i made it with a very high current to make it bright, the battery power is from a zipper pocket behind his head and the black wire is a bendable laptop usb lamp wire

Would a folder divider (the transparent ones) work for the diamond on it's head?

depends how bright the led is inside, you gotta test it out to see how you like it, i used clear plastic with layers of pink gift wrap to get a good tone that isnt as transparent. if you dont want it to light up then transparent is fine, but it would be nice if the folder divider is glossy

I have a question. What did you use for the diamond that is attached to Mog's head? I would love to know the answer because I'm constructing a cosplay, of Mog, for Otakon

I made that the hard way, I cut clear semi-flexible plastic sheets from retail item boxes and I tinted it with 5 layers of very thin pink gift wrapping and transparent tape. if you are lucky enough to find transparent pink plastic sheet then you could use those

I made it from m&m new candy shaped tins, they were on sale for valentines day and now for easter. I had to primer and spray paint it, then I was able to sew it on

sorry, I'm kind of a perfectionist so I don't think I can do such a thing >.<
the main reason is that most of my friends want one also so if I make one then it is a slippery slope :/

at first I was asking my friend to help me search a reference photo and then I looked at the screen and just slapped the cushion on it

I was lucky to have found this for sale at a NYC pharmacy [link] . I didn't buy it immediately, but when I realized it was perfect for Mog's nose I ran out and searched all of my local pharmacies for it. On valentines day I was running from pharmacy to pharmacy searching for the chocolates for a plushie lol

it is hard since it is a thin tin cap, but it was lightweight and ridiculously accurate so I used it instead of looking for something flexible. it is also cold to the touch, I just sprayed primer and pink paint over it

the bottom tin has 3 3mm diameter holes on the sides to let it seal, after primering and spray painting the 3 holes were soft enough to sow on like a button
