Description
A gift for the very lovely =melyanna in return for the beautiful drow she drew me [link] .I know I said I'd never draw feathered wings again... ah well, I'm a big fat liar! (they are also alarmingly anime-like...
I used this stock [link] from *auralis-stock for the basic pose.
Started sketching at about 1pm and finished colouring at around 9pm... so about 8 hours work, give or take (minus time to eat and set up new TV - yay, we have widescreen at last!!
Please full view.

If you get wings, you have gotta get full-back wings. They just don't work otherwise, lol

OMG! This is anamazing piece! I can't do traditional in the sence of coloring it with crayones, markers, or colored pencils. The only way I can do traditional is with a graphite pencil! I am always amazing at what people can do with watercolor (a pain the @$$), acrilic, pencil, crayon, marker, ect.! You did an amazing, no phenominal job with this!

Damn, you did all this in one day?!
Love the long flowing hair, and of course the wings are wonderful as well. The wrinkles and folds on the clothing are top notch, and the border is beeeeautiful. I wouldn't mind having a picture frame like that!
It's nice to see traditional coloring from you again. You've certainly still got "it" that's for sure!

I kind of got a bit obsessed... when I start a traditional piece, I HAVE to finish it, otherwise I can't sleep
(Sary, I know...)
Thanks, m'dear!
(And I just have to tell you - you're the first person on DA to know... I've been accepted to sell prints etc. over at EllenMillionGraphics! I got the confirmation yesterday... so far she's accepted 3 pieces Unfortunately, she's had to decline my graphite work because there is simply no market for it, but she's accepted Angel, elven subrace and Succubus! I'm soooo excited!!

Whoa, that's cool! I wasn't exactly sure what EMG was at first but after checking it out I actually think I've browsed around there before (I think it was their portrait adoption section). That's awesome that they accepted some of your pieces though (and more to come in the future I'm sure). Are you in their database yet? I did a few searches but couldn't find anything just yet. (Then again I am a 'tard at times...)
That's awesome though, I know how picky some of these places can be, and a little extra moolah is aaaalways nice, hehe. A little off subject here, but have you ever tried submitting any of your stuff to Epilogue??? I know that place can be SUPER strict and picky, but imagine if some of your stuff made it through. It'd give ya a good ego boost and might gain ya some new fans or even more popularity. Which could mean more sales at EMG!
Keep me updated though! I want to take a peek at your stuff once it makes it into the EMG database.

I'm not posted up yet - I've only just posted my contract over, and so that has to be sorted out first, but when it's up and running, no doubt everyone will know...
I tried Epilogue a little while ago - allegedly, my stuff is "too 'cartoony' and not of Epilogue standard". *coughbastardscough*. I don't care! I like it here and I like drawing cartoony rubbish!

These are fantastic wings. I love the hint of lavender you put into them, it really draws the viewer's attention. The colors are well thought out and the pose makes for a nice print! Oh, and the frame is is great, too. Try adding a few white streaks along the grey vines to give it a metallic hint. It would be a neato way of playing with the viewer's eye.

I find the pair of wings the most beautiful thing above all, they look pretty realistic and nicely colored... but the rest of the pic it is as well Very good selection of the colors and nice shading and light tones. Great reference yeah
you did something pretty sweet here
The frame is cool too, has some sea look.
