*bobs head to the beat*This is what happens when you're in a Pokemon mood, and you listen to Ghost by Mystery Skulls. Have a gif of myself and Maxie in a sort of Mystery Skulls-esque scene, this time around in my style, complete with head bobbing (that was a pain to both look right and match the beat of the song), only with Maxie holding, and possessed by, the red orb there in his hand. I was going to draw Maxie as a ghost, similar to Lewis in the music video, but I went with him alive, albeit possessed, seeing as he lives in the anime and all five Hoenn games. I might do it later, if I get the idea.
If I had to say who Archie would be in this situation, he'd more than likely be Arthur, mostly because he apparently offed Maxie in the manga for some immortality-granting armor, or at least claimed responsibility for it (needless to say, karma came around and kicked him in the Pokeballs with steel-toed boots later on). It's things like that that make the manga a little too intense for my tastes.
I only own me on the left. Maxie and the red orb belong to Game Freak.

Ehe... I had an idea of my own for the whole 'Groudon possessing Maxie' idea~ Now, I do a lot of gijinka runs, and said gijinkas tend to revere legendaries as god-like figures. Now, some criminal groups in those canons have slightly cultish tendencies, a la Galactic and Flare, but Aqua/Magma surprisingly don't start off that way. Hell, even Maxie himself was only marginally religious. You know the kind of person who just goes to church every Sunday out of habit? That's Maxie in this canon (had I been doing an AlphaSapphire run, Archie would be in his position.)
However, he still has the same goals, of course. He and Archie were formerly members of the same charity organization, but wound up forming a splinter group of their own... And later disbanding that over differing ideals. As for Magma, well... Just a warning, it's a bit of a wall of text. XD
