Description
Okay, I know it looks like toast. Just add less pastel if you want it to look more like regular bread (more for the crust, too).I noticed the lack of a polymer clay tutorial for slices of bread.
I hope people are helped by this!
Using some of these techniques I made these: [link] [link]

hahaha I always wondered how to make the texture right on the bread! I resorted to just poking at it with a toothpick. So helpful!

Glad to be of help! Toothpick texturing is good for cakes, but otherwise it's too hard to control and takes way too long.

I just wanted to say thanks. I used your tutorial when I made my sandwich: [link]
Although I didn't get to color it properly. I ordered the chalk pastels, but I sent them up to my college instead of my house. Whoops. I'll get them in January, I suppose.

I wouldn't worry about air bubbles in bread, I mean, bread -has- air bubbles. XD

OOOOOO yes!!!! thank you!! I lost my tool with which I did that that kind of texture on the clay, and I just couldn't come up with anything else that could do the same. A Mascara brush!!!! I have those!! Perfect!! Oh man, thank you so much!!
(I know others use that too, and I've seen those tutorials too, but I just saw yours at a perfect timing, so you get all the hugs
)

burnt piece of toast?
If I was to make normal bread i would roll out a brown into a sheet, take a lighter brown and roll it into a log, then roll the sheet around the log, and then i'd follow your steps.

MisttheWarrior In reply to Akina-Shichiyou [2010-12-16 00:19:48 +0000 UTC]
Well, yes I admit that I might have overdid the pastel. xD
I recommend if you just want to do regular bread that you use pastels to only color the crust. Oftentimes the other method doesn't end up looking as realistic.
