One of my favourite character always been Snape, but in the book there was no hapiness for him and, I think, he tried to find forgiveness for that he done to Potters and punish himself for it. So in imagination this is moment when he finally find peace for his restless soul. Before death he saw Lily and she give him her forgiveness.

Yes, I like to talk about HP character a lot and I don`t know English, sorry, guys
And I don`t ship Lily with Snape, not for a moment, but I have to admit that they have a loooong sad story and Lily has always means something special for Snape.
