(Hopefully this works - let me know if you have issues.)
This is a pay-to-use version of my current ARPG character references. This is a photoshop (.psd) file with layers. If you save your versions as a .png, you will retain the clear background.
RULES:
DO use to create reference sheets for your own personal ARPG Characters. Do feel free to modify, change the text, backgrounds, etc. for your personal use. DO credit me, with a link back to this file, so others can find it!
DO NOT re-upload or post the Photoshop file as downloadable anywhere! Do NOT use any elements outside of a reference sheet (no using the backgrounds or linearts for ANY other purpose.) Do NOT use for free/gifted or paid/commissioned works. Only the purchaser may use for their own personally characters- you may not allow others to use this file or use it on their behalf by creating references for them to upload to their accounts.
Do NOT remove the watermark at the bottom of the sheet.(You may move it / edit the colour slightly, but the font should not be smaller/less visible or removed under ANY circumstances.)

I purchased this but I cannot find a way to open it. What program should I use, as in which one do you use.

I use "photoshop". It may also open in "gimp" or any other program that allows for .psd files. What program are you using?

I started with paint but I'm going try downloading gimp. Thanks for the advice.

I have downloaded gimp but when I try opening the file it says: cannot open file, unknown file type. It is a PSD file on my computer. What should I do now?

I'm assuming you've "unzipped" the download file, correct? (It downloads in a compressed form.) If you have done that, are trying to open the actual .psd file and it's still not working, try a computer restart. Other than those ideas, I don't have any other suggestions for you off the top of my head. I can refund if you still can't get it to open.

As long as it's still only for a reference (no shows, rec./title images, etc.), my "watermark" is still clearly visible, and I'm properly credited (ie. background/template [link] by MistyofSunrise ") - then yes, you may.
