Description This is basically how I draw hands. I suppose it's not the best example, as I've done better (especially when it comes to detail... in this case), but it's close enough to a decent step-by-step instructional panel that I'm fairly satisfied with it.

I referred to a screenshot of Remy's (from Ratatouille) hand/paw while drawing this, which is why this deviation is placed under "Movies/TV".

hey Mitch, nice stuff! I will try to red line this if I ever get the chance -- your basic form is strong & proportions are good, but you should be drawing four fingers and all the joints in the hand before you start stylising them - painful though it may be, haha! You've got hands right there in front of you, I would reference them instead of Ratatouille. It's more boring, but your style will pop through much more strongly and you'll get a better basis of things

Yeah! Critique! I can always use more of it.

Remy only has three fingers, hence the missing digit, unless you were referring to the fact that I should practice drawing human hands instead of stylized ones. Nevertheless, I definitely see what you're saying. I should exercise drawing from life much more. I have practiced sketching my own (and others' ) hands before, and have never found it to be boring. Hands are one of my favorite things to draw.

Thank you very much for the critique! It is greatly appreciated.

aha yeah, I meant instead of! The drawings themselves are really good, you have a good eye - I was going to red line over your construction part to suggest a slightly different breakdown (I find it easier to do it in more pieces, with big basic shapes) but this tutorial: [link] pretty much covers how I do it anyway obviously something like that comes down to personal preference anyway, but I definitely think draw four fingers hands as much as possible, haha that last knuckle is a right pain XD

Ha-ha! I see.

Once again, thank you very much for the comments and critique. The link you provided to that tutorial was most informative, as well. I loved it.

Oh, and, by all means, red line them! I'd love to see your interpretation of and improvement on my sketches.

Awesome! Remy's hand( or paw) looks adorable! Great job on this art concept and the shading.
