July and August were removed because September, October, November and December were intended to be the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th months respectively, as implied by their latin prefixes. July and August were added before September in honor of Julius Caesar and Caesar Augustus. I meant to rename January through June their latin counterparts, but I felt enough was accomplished by shifting September through December back to their rightful places. I rearranged the months in order for the vernal equinox to correspond with the new year, signifying rebirth.Universal Calendar:

13 Months Per Year
13 Weeks Per Quarter-Year
04 Weeks Per Month
01 Intercalary Day at End of 13th Month
01 Intercalary Day at End of 7th Month on Leap Year

Quintilis and Sextilis were the original names of July and August, literally meaning the 'Fifth' and 'Sixth' months. Renamed after Gaius Julius Caesar and his great nephew Gaius Octavius/Augustus
January is named after Janus
Ferbruary is names after Februus (who was named after the festival held in the month)
March (Martius) is named after Mars (and was originally the first month).
April (Aprilis) is named after Venus (from her Greek counterpart, Aphrodite)
May (Maius) is named after Maia
June (Iunius) is named after Juno

I like this but Tolkien's works even better. As I remember he divided the year into 12 months with the same amount of days but he had festival days between the months of summer and winter that accounted for the odd days out and thus no leap years were required, you just added a festival day.

Christmas would actually be December 26th. You seem to have forgotten that this calendar starts on the Vernal Equinox, which is usually March 20th in the Gregorian Calendar. The equivalent of Gregorian October 16th would be Universal Calendar October 12th. Although, in fairness the equinoxes and solstices do vary slightly from year to year in the Gregorian Calendar and would in this one as well. Unless the designer has a method for compensation that they haven't mentioned. The variance is minor though, only a day or two, and this variance is mostly fixed within the cycle of leap years.

I'm sure by the interference of daylight savings & leap years the days are far skewed from their actual anniversaries anyway.
It sure felt like there were 3 decembers this yearrbbrrr...
