Description
Finished sometime in March I think can't really remember. After reading and watching the movie of Memoires of a Geisha I decided to draw a pic of Chiyo transforming into Sayuri. First time ever do a design on a piece of clothing and right here is where I actually started to shade in the hair trying to capture each strand but as you can tell it didn't work out as I had planned lol
Shaded with 0.5mm mechanical pencil, blended with soft bristle paintbrush and q-tip

well i know what you mean, its jsut a technique. However its not etched in stone. Mostly all art is drawn different by everyone, we cant follow a rule. My advice is just do what works for you and it will improve naturally.

that's what I'm gonna try and do from now on, creating my own art style since everyone has one

If only I can do that all day and not have to draw anything I'd be in paradise

I still can't understand how they use those shapes to draw people I try using it but it just makes them look animeish or cartoonish instead of humanish
