Because of all the requests I've finally made a small tutorial on how to create a simple wallpaper in photoshop.Q&A:
Q: What size did you make the canvas?
A: I make my wallpapers in 4096x203, but you can use any Size in 16:9 adjust the effects accordingly. Monitor-sizes on Wikipedia
Q: What if I don't own PS?
A: GIMP and Paint.Net can do most of the things Photoshop can, a short search on Google will help you in most cases
