No. I only like you when I think you're not wearing a bullring. Other than that, I hate you and never want to see you.

It has been a while! Zen and the Fine Art of Surfacing!
I'm good, keeping my head down, trying to stay healthy. I've started writing again, and 365tomorrows just closed out it's 10th year, so putting a shine on that for the start of its next decade has been taking up some time and attention. I've been playing lots of old Bob Seger music while I'm driving, and it's making me restless! Hard not to make a hard left turn and head south to the mountains and sunshine, but responsibilities are keeping me rooted, at least for the time being.
How about you? Is life treating you well? Read, listened to or watched anything recently that's holding your attention?

Sounds exciting! Hows the shiny-ing up going? And I've been stuck on more mellow girly music lately, like 'one more' by elliphant and grimes' 'california', tei she 'basically' but most of all: the rock band Dorothy. Big fan of their sound I've traveled quite a bit this year, and in one aspect it slows the restlessness and in another accelerates it. The country i live in is wonderful, but very small
So: I'm very good. Business is good, i have a lot of fun and am very lucky overall As for reading, I just finished 'the circle' which was OK, i read the night circus before that and enjoyed it a lot more. Currently watching Marco Polo for the visuals of it all (plot line got lost somewhere along the way, but thats ok). You?

New 365 site is live, and I'm really happy, mostly that it's done, but also with the way it's turned out. Some minor finessing to be done, but all in good time. Get to spend more time writing now and less time fussing with the delivery system, which I need to be doing.
There's no such thing as 'girly music', music is music, it's either good or it's not for you! Β 'One More' is great - hadn't heard ofΒ ElliphantΒ before. Grimes isn't for me, I don't think, but 'Basically' certainly lives up to it's name! I listen to a lot of electronica while I'm coding/writing, and vocal electronica fits right in!Β Dorothy's got a great sound - I'll have to give them someΒ time too. Thanks! Love getting turned on to new sounds!Β
I think being stuck in one place for so long makes me crave change, and a prolonged period of change and being completely unstuck I expect would make me appreciate having a stable place to come back to. My country is huge, but my city is relatively small, and lately pretty incestuous. I'd like to put it in my rear view mirror for a while, get some perspective from a distance.
I started reading 'If You Meet the Buddha On the Road Kill Him' (it came up briefly in a Fringe episode and caught my attention). It's an interesting read so far. I've also picked up 'In The Miso Soup' by another Murakami (Ryu). I'm a huge fan ofΒ Haruki Murakami and was surprised to find another one. I think this is the first time I've been reading two books at the same time.
I binge watched 'Orphan Black', which was interesting - the lead actress plays half a dozen clones of herself with completely different personalities, and it's worth watching just to see her pull it off (amazing talent). Just started Stranger Things which is a lot of fun so far. I've gone back and re-watched Ex-Machina a few times recently, I can only describe it as a beautiful mind fuck of a movie. I find my reactions towards the characters, even knowing what's going to happen is in itself strange and unnerving. DareDevil and Jessica Jones were both great rides - looking forward to more of the darker side of Marvel's small 's' superhero world.
Music wise 'New Americana' turned me on to Halsey, I'm liking 'America' by Wintersleep, Chet Faker's 'Gold', and 'Fade Out Lines' by The Avener & Phoebe Killdeer. I'm still loving July Talk, I've seen them play a bunch of great small venue shows and they're all kinds of amazing. Check out 'Paper Girl', 'Blood & Honey' and 'I've Rationed Well' if you're not familiar with them. If you're every anywhere they're playing live, go see them.
Business is good for me as well right now. A lot of my friends in the design industry are painfully slow, but as a bit-head I'm pretty adaptable, and code work is in demand, at least for now, so I'm making much hay while the sun shines!
Take good care of you! I'll keep watching your Tumblr blog - nice to see another part of the world through your eyes!
