If you don't get the joke, the idea is revolving around Oscar's name : Oscar Pines, which can be altered into Ozpin (Ospin). So, what if that is not a coincidence but merely because he choose his people based around that idea. It's a headcanon joke that I somehow thought for a while.Please note that this is a what if scenario, so yeah it is of course not canon

Ozpin is presumably based off of Oz from the wizard of Oz, said wizard went by his initials, and had the sirname Oscar.
