Description
Jurassic Park InGen Files: Mussaurus patagonicusAge: Late Triassic (215 million years ago)
Diet: Herbivore
Length: Uncertain
Weight: Uncertain
Notes: The first specimens of Mussaurus (which means 'Mouse Lizard') were discovered in 1979 by José F. Bonaparte and Martin Vince. All specimens, though complete, have so far been of infants so it is difficult to determine the adult size of this species... Adults possibly reached 3 meters in length.
Mussaurus was one of the very last dinosaurs to be bred on Isla Sorna, and thus we have very little research data on this species. They are also very strange, analyses of their bone indicate that they are not yet fully grown, but one of the research staff noted that they appear to almost have paedomorphic features... so speculation on just how large they might get is pointless.
They live in small herds of thirty or forty animals, which stick together for protection from larger predators like Ornitholestes... they have taken to the damp canyons on Isla Sorna, where constant spray from the waterfalls keeps a never ending supply of moss and ferns available...

Beautiful! Is it OK if I use this as a reference for our Mussaurus Model?

Yes they are, in fact; InGen had plans to feature them in a sort-of Jurassic Park petting zoo, but turns out they can give a nasty nip...
Thanks

Thanks What do you think of the story? If they do feature Mussaurus in any future JP movies, they can show them at this stage of development and simply say that they hatch from the egg fairly developed and ready for the world (like some lizards), and that Mussaurus was one of the last dinosaurs bred by InGen so they have very little data on it... If more Mussaurus remains are later found,, and it turns out the adults got much larger, then they can show them in the adult form.

Story looks pretty good. So far its estimated that an adult Mussaurus possibly reached up to 10 feet in length and weighed up to 150 pounds [link]
Good explanations too since the Lost World novel doesn't delve too deeply into the specifics on the Mussaurus since it only appeared in one sequence, right before Levine's guide Diego gets attacked by one of the Carnotaurs.

wow you've done it again i've never really cared much about this dinosaur but as with Segisaurus you've made me want to know more about it. So you've got Ornitholestes to do as well? Nice
