Description
A lost world is a sort of scientific myth, an evolutionary scenario in which an ecosystem is isolated and preserved, while the rest of the world changes, leaving a tiny fragile pocket where ancient species survive...Isla Sorna is hot, tropical, and shrouded in mist. Costa Rica lies to the east, to the west open water and the shipping lanes of the pacific. We began work in 1981. We were not the only covert business to thrive in Central America, nor the most dangerous. By 1989 international genetic technologies (InGen) had succeeded in genetically recreating the dinosaurs. The barrier of time was unlocked. But this unprecedented accomplishment, the pinnacle of 20th century science, was not easy. One seldom hears the true history of such events, what happened at the place where the world changed. How it began, what went wrong...
Site B was not to be a theme park, but a research station. This was where we did the real work... In eleven months, site B had become the most powerful genetics facility in the world. Left to itself the facility reverts to minimal power. Powered by geothermal energy it can sustain itself almost indefinitely. Three Cray X-MPs moved more data faster than any computer center in the Americas. Site B was fully centralized and computer controlled (Diagnostics, communications, security all ran through the system) – the same design that became the Achilles heel of Jurassic park.
After the accident at the park, a hurricane wiped out our facility on Site B. There were reports of an explosion in one of the research facilities. We suspected sabotage. The power outage that resulted rendered the electrified perimeter fences useless. Large carnivores broke out of their enclosures, and people began to panic. As our staff evacuated they tried to salvage as much research data as possible. We sealed off the town save for a few crucial gates (southward to the lowlands, eastwards to the power plant and lab). As we left we vandalized our own locking mechanisms. InGen tolerates no trespasses. Buildings were looted. Technicians and workmen crowded around the docks, fearing they might be left behind when the security ring collapsed.
A Nobel Prize or a financial empire awaits somewhere in a darkened room, in a dirty derelict building somewhere in the pacific. When they come to dig up our secrets, they’ll go there. Our work lies where we left it, the technology is still there for anyone brave enough to take it. I can picture them, moving cautiously through the dusty rooms clutching rifles, pouring over our records, reading our files...
Collectively the so called 'InGen Files' contain information on all the species resurrected by InGen.

Nice work but you used one of my background though: [link]
Yes, it's inspired by Jurassic Park but still, I did work on it. Please at least add a copyright notice and a link to my art on your description with my username. Thank you!

Fuck off you stupid annoying piece of shit.
I’m sorry, but I’m absolutely done being civil with you.
We have had this conversation before. Every time I update this logo you accuse me of stealing your fucking background! It’s like you didn’t even read the comments that you yourself left on this page from June of last year, before once again accusing me of the same exact thing! First it was the background for JP Restaurants, now it’s this... It’s incredibly annoying.
Get it through your fucking head; this is a very easy background to make, I don’t need to ‘use’ your background to be able to do this.
As I explained before; I cut the strip of palm tree silhouettes out of the base of a large Jurassic park logo I found on the net, and duplicated it so as to have a strip of black palm trees along the base of the picture. From there it’s not so hard to use the gradient tool with red & yellow color swatches to create this sunset effect...
You don’t get to accuse me of stealing YOUR work because neither of us actually own this. In my case this is fan art and the copyright notice refers to the actual set-up of the logo itself, not the background.
Furthermore; you didn’t even say thank you when I linked you to an actual case of someone stealing your work (whole-sale copy/paste and trying to pass it off as his own – only changing the words) [link]
I swear to God man I’m sick of these stupid accusations tainting the comments section here. I plan on updating this image again soon (and by the way, this background which I made, will be exactly the same). I’m warning you; Your ass is getting blocked if you post another stupid accusation on here again.

Waw, Take a chill pile, man!
I don't think I have been rude or anything.
Sorry but I still don't see my work linked on your description. See the thing is not about me doing a complicated job; it was pretty easy. It's just that I don't want people to mistake my work for yours, especially when it comes to my other project I talked about, JPR.
I like what you did with it but usually what DeviantArt members do when they used somebody's work is to put the reference on the description. It's polite and it allows people to see the work of others and create a sense of community. I'm not asking for much and you just keeping insulting me. I don't recall insulting you.
Anyway, do what you want, sir.
Try to be nice next time. It's easy to say those kind of words behind a screen...
All best!

“Waw, Take a chill pile, man!”
No, I think I’ve been calm with you long enough. The time for being civil is over...
“I don't think I have been rude or anything.” “
No, not rude; just annoying.
(What else would you call it when you accuse me of stealing your background [in June last year], and I explain that I did NOT steal it and that it was actually pretty easy to make – not to mention the fact that you have no right accusing me of anything since you yourself don’t own it, Universal Studios does... and you clearly agreed after a long discussion (and I quote; “Ok, let's make peace! ”). And then I update the image a year later, and here you are back once again accusing me of the SAME EXACT FUCKING THING! That’s annoying.)
And ungrateful; since you did not even thank me for bringing an actual case of someone using your work.
“Sorry but I still don't see my work linked on your description.”
And you never will.
I made this myself, and I will not give you credit for something that I made. You don’t even own this, Universal Studios does. This is all fan art. Where do you get off asking me to give you credit for something you don’t even own?!
“See the thing is not about me doing a complicated job; it was pretty easy. It's just that I don't want people to mistake my work for yours, especially when it comes to my other project I talked about, JPR.”
No one is mistaking my InGen Files series on Deviant art for Your JP Restaurants website. That’s the dumbest excuse I ever heard...
“I like what you did with it but usually what DeviantArt members do when they used somebody's work is to put the reference on the description. It's polite and it allows people to see the work of others and create a sense of community.”
Well thank you for the empty compliment, but you don’t need to tell me how link back to someone. I know about giving credit where credit is due. Here’s one example; [link]
“I'm not asking for much and you just keeping insulting me. I don't recall insulting you.”
You are asking that I credit you for something I made myself. I will not do that. I don’t know how many times I have to explain this to get through to you. I made it. It is not a fucking coincidence that they look similar because we both did the same thing!
No you are not insulting, you are annoying. Especially because we have had this fucking conversation before, and you left me with the impression that you understood what I had said. Then when I update this image almost a year later, you come back with the same bullshit all over again!
“Anyway, do what you want, sir.”
I will, and I don’t need your permission to do so either...
“Try to be nice next time.”
I think I’ve been nice enough with you the first time you accused me of stealing your shit. I was very patient and explained that it was easy for me to make and it was not a coincidence since we’re basically making the same thing, and you agreed. You gave me no impression to think otherwise.
But the second I update it, (update – not even upload a new image, but update the same one) you come back with the SAME EXACT BULLSHIT! I’m sorry, but I have had enough of this. There is no more reason for me to be nice...
“It's easy to say those kind of words behind a screen...”
Fuck off! I put my full name on all my uploads, unlike you “DsKoRn.” Glass houses asshole... I’ve previously met other people from Australia who have DA accounts that I watch & interact with, and I wasn’t afraid to let them know what I thought of their work – what makes you think you would be any exception?!

You know what I find funny? The fact that JP Restaurants has been dead in the water for years and will probably never happen.
I also find it funny that 100% of you gallery is composed of nothing but wallpaper images made from composite collages of other peoples’ work, and you see something that looks slightly like your ‘work’ and you lose you shit... oh the irony.
You know, when Gloverboy was extremely rude to you and blocked you after I linked you to his art-theft of your JP Restaurants poster and you left a few comments on his page; I actually felt bad for you. I even wrote a journal on it and got a bunch of people to message the admins which ultimately made gloverboy take the offending work down and block us all. [link] You're welcome by the way, asshole. Without us you accomplished exactly fuck-all. But you know what, I don’t feel bad for you anymore. I shouldn’t have wasted my time on you when you left the first comment here, I should have done exactly what he did to you...

Miyess In reply to DsKoRn [2012-06-05 04:06:25 +0000 UTC]
Are you sure about that chief?
First of all, I’ve never heard of ‘Jurassic Park Restaurants’ until you linked me to it here.
Secondly (I assume you’re referring to the background and not the logo itself), after searching through your entire website, this [link] , is the closest thing I could find that could even remotely be somehow used, and it is not the same as my background at all. You’ve added pterosaurs and a brachiosaur silhouette to the trees, I have not. Also, the red sky is darker on my background and my tree line is vertically thicker than yours...
I don’t know if you noticed but creating this sort of background is not really that hard. I already have done similar things all throughout my Jurassic Park series.
This is actually the background I use for some of the InGen Files. I cut the strip of palm tree silhouettes out of the base of a large Jurassic park logo I found on the net, and duplicated it so as to have a long line of black palm trees along the base of the page. I changed the opacity, to suit the background. [link] From there it’s not so hard to use the gradient tool with red & yellow color swatches to create this sunset effect...
I have made this palm tree silhouette lighter in color (instead of black), and used here [link] and here [link] to name a few examples. And I’ve used this many times, long before I applied it here...
And besides, it’s not like YOU or I own the rights to this sort of background design, Universal does. And the only reason I can use it here without getting sued (I’m can’t speak for you with your website) is because it is just fan art, and I’m not making money off of it... I love how you act like you actually designed this!
So just chill, and have a little think before you go around accusing people of stealing things you yourself don’t even own...

How can you tell me to chill? How do you know if I've reacted violently?
Sure, the logo is entirely yours (and cool by the way). But the background does really look like the one I did for JPR. Maybe it's a coincidence, maybe not: I don't know.
Yes, it is very simple to make. I mean, you don't have to be a photoshop professional to do it (and I'm not).
For the record, the JPR project exists since 2008. It saddens me to know you didn't heard of it since you're a JP fan (it's a joke here, ok? ), but that means we have to communicate a lot more about it.
Since it's still a project, we don't make money and I don't know if we ever will. To me, that's not the point. I'd just like to eat in a place with a Jurassic Park atmosphere. But, sure, capitalists are behind everything these days, so...
Eventually, you're right, I don't own the rights, neither do you. I've also reacted to your picture because I saw the copyrights and stuff with a background that looks a lot like "mine".
You know I can't sue you for this, and I wouldn't want to. Thing is, other people already picked some ideas of designs I've made for the project to use for theirs, without asking me if that wouldn't bother me at all. But, well, you say you did it yourself, how can I prove the difference? I can't.
I hope you understand my reaction.

“How can you tell me to chill? How do you know if I've reacted violently?” It’s just a figure of speech, I wasn’t implying anything, I could have just as well said ‘take it easy man’ it doesn’t mean I thought you were ‘reacting violently’ over this. But on the other hand, there is no way for me to know really. Your comment consisted of a single sentence, and you put emphasis on the word ‘YOUR’ by capitalizing it, which some people take to mean a raised vioce. So for all I knew, you were angry about it...
“Sure, the logo is entirely yours (and cool by the way).” Thank you
“But the background does really look like the one I did for JPR. Maybe it's a coincidence, maybe not: I don't know.” There’s no coincidence! We both used the same exact palm tree silhouette and sunset background from the original Jurassic Park logo [link] and 1993 promotional material respectively [link] - of course they are going to superficially look the same!
“Yes, it is very simple to make. I mean, you don't have to be a Photoshop professional to do it.” Agreed.
“For the record, the JPR project exists since 2008. It saddens me to know you didn't heard of it since you're a JP fan (it's a joke here, ok?)”
I’m not offended. Go ahead, call me a Jurassic Park fan – I’ll happily admit it! Jurassic park has been a big influence on me. It inspired me to start drawing from the age of four (which is how old I was when I watched the first JP movie) and sparked my interest in paleontology & dinosaur fossils specifically, which is what I am currently studying at university.
“It saddens me to know you didn't heard of it since you're a JP fan.” Well I know about it now. You can probably tell from my avatar that I’m (part) Lebanese. My French is not very good, despite going to school in Lebanon which is a Francophonie country. My school taught English and Arabic as core languages, only introducing French a few years before I graduated, so I got very little practice. But despite this I plan on refreshing my French, and one day actually going to France, so I will certainly be happy to visit a Jurassic Park Restaurant if it is open by then.
“Eventually, you're right, I don't own the rights, neither do you. I've also reacted to your picture because I saw the copyrights and stuff...” I never claimed I owned it, this is just fan art. What I do claim copyright to is my original drawings, everything else is simply fan art. Many people do it for many different movies, which is good in a way because it popularizes the franchise and keeps people interested...
