Description Here is it, the next part! Wow!!! After such a long time, i'm so sorry!!!
But at least i started a another picture with oil-colors and canvas for my room with the cover of the PotO-movie.
The last two pictures were so much fun to do, especially the last!!
For the first picture of the 'Red Death' i used a reference of *Angela-T. She did an gorgeous job on the red death, i loved her picture!

The phantom of the opera belongs because to Gaston Leroux and the movie references aren't my own!

Here's the dialogue for sequence picture #2:

[Christine]: I have a secret engagement with a ring in my necklace.

[Raoul]: Secret? An engagement may not be a crime, but I know you're my future bride. Is it okay if we let them see us kiss?

[Christine]: I suppose so.

Awesome! I really admire the way you created the backgrounds. What is your process when it comes to designing the backgrounds if you don't mind my asking. I like the mystiqueness on the Phantoms expression on the second to the last panel. Job well done.

Mize-meow In reply to Eagle-Bear [2008-11-01 16:16:44 +0000 UTC]

Oh, this is really really easy. I hate making background, so i made it with a very simple way: I make a simple background color, then i make some details, like a few colorspots and furniture and so on. But without any details, only that you can imagine what it is and then i make it soft, very soft, so that the people or that what should be important came out very well and strong. And then you can add a rendering filtre, if you want to.
I don't mind that you asked, i think it's great!

I've noticed that your line art (specifically with PotO) has been colored one example is the Phantom's black jacket with the whitish color lines. What's your process in doing that because that's what really enhances the characters? Another note is that you illustrate your characters with 'acting' abilities. What I mean is it's not static and stiff. The drawings show who's who and how they are feeling. Impressive. So, yeah if you can describe your process in the colored lines that'd be great. Do you use the Channels in photoshop to get that effect?

Mize-meow In reply to Eagle-Bear [2008-11-02 15:21:58 +0000 UTC]

Oh i simply use for the colored lineart the pen-tool (sorry, i don't know what it is in english, my version is german ). I take the color which it should have and make the lines. For the other parts, the skin, hair, clothes or so i take different color. And you have to do it on a seperate layer. Really bad explained, isn't it? I'm sorry, my english is too bad for this
And thank you so much, that you say my characters have 'acting abilities'! That makes me really proud xD

Ah, ok. You use the pen-tool and stroke the path lines. Yeah, it makes sense. I showed your work to my wife and she too is amazed. I was wondering are you familiar with the 'Rule of Thirds'? Perhaps, you are familiar with that technique. It's when one layouts a drawing without centering an image directly in the middle. I really directs the eye on a page. Do you plan out a scene in writing before you draw or what's you style?

Mize-meow In reply to Eagle-Bear [2008-11-03 13:46:33 +0000 UTC]

Your technique seems very familiar to me, but i don't know if that's the technique you described and what the english word is. In german it is called the 'goldene Schnitt' (golden ratio, perhaps). But it is able, that it's something completly different!

And i feel very very flattered that your wife is amazed about my work!!! It's so wonderful!

Hi, I was wondering how long it takes you to design a page like the ones you are doing with Phantom? Do you start with thumbnail sketches and work from there and do you write a script and draw based on that? And kinda of going back to my initial question...once you have an idea what you want how long does it take you to complete it? It's kinda of like a question within a question if that makes sense. How long have you been drawing? Your art reflects your confidence. Awesome stuff!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mize-meow In reply to Eagle-Bear [2008-11-20 10:27:04 +0000 UTC]

Oh, i made it very simple. I had thousands of sketches on normal sheets. It was ca. 20 pages full of sketches and then i start to draw them in Photoshop. Often i have a little script, or little notices.
And the second question to your second answer is that i have soo much problems with my ideas because i can't draw them how i want it. Sometimes i become so angry because of that, that i want to scream!! XD But then i get it... so it takes A LOT OF TIME xD

And i draw since i can remember and longer. I can't live a day without it and i draw hours a day xD

And thank you so much, i'm really flattered that you ask so many questions, it's fun to answer them!

Mize-meow, I've recently posted my attempt at anime cell shading. Let me know what you think, ok? I was wondering do you use a blur and what software do you use? Do you draw on a tablet? What are your tools of the trade?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mize-meow In reply to Eagle-Bear [2008-11-24 16:12:07 +0000 UTC]

Ok, i'll look for it!
I use for the shading a simple blur effect. And i draw most sketches with a apencil and than i scann it and draw it with my mouse. I have a tablet, but i don't use it, because i can draw with my mouse a lot better. My tablet is so bad xD

Howdy, Mize-meow, I was wondering as since I'm still fairly new with deviantart's features...I had a few questions. How did you place the image next to your name (the little character)? And in your gallery how did you place your artwork on the left side organized like "disney" and such? And finally, how did you place your photo of yourself and the rabbit on your front page? I feel that I need to kinda clean up a little and organize a bit. If you can help that'd be way cool. Also, keep up the great art. Merci

Mize-meow In reply to Eagle-Bear [2008-12-05 14:25:55 +0000 UTC]

Okay, that's easy!
1) For the little image next to my name, you have to go to
'Edit settings & profile' next to your deviant-name in the list on the top. Then you must go to 'your settings' and you can upload an avatar, which have to be 50x50 pixel.

2) For this you must go to your gallery and choose 'edit'. Then you can create folders and put your pictures in it! Easy, isn't it? xD

3-1) You have a picture of you, or something which represent you. But you have to submit it with the category 'Devianart related - deviantID'. That's the most importent part, without that you can't display it as a deviantID!!!!!!

3-2) And for the ID you only have to go again to 'edit settings & profile' and then to 'userpage display' where you can choose your 'ID'. You can also choose your favorite picture from you there, and it is displayd there!

Wow...so much text! And everything in english XD bAnd thank you!
