i know im going to sound stupid asking this but
if your family already has a family crest, can you make your own, by making it your own i mean can it be recognized as legit even if its only for your branch of the family

...I completely missed the wings, sorry.
But its basicly the Knights helm and a tree (not too sure what kind, or if its revelent)...Its been awhile so besides the prodominate color being blue, I dont remember too much besides.
Although I also found the motto 'Fidelity and courage', though it was in latin originally.
And while i remember this (cause I forgot on my last post) you did a vary good disign sketch for the crest!

Kinda looks like the Watts family emblem...Although I dont think there were the lions on it...hmm
