I think the doctors took them apart to do an autopsy after they died, then they stitched them back together to make a specimen of how they looked at birth.

Shocking and amazing, it reminds me of the Nazi Human Experiments and their attempts to create conjoined twins with their victims.... creepy!

I'm a twin and I can't help but think what would have happened to us if we were born conjoined.. How would be look? What would it feel like... Would we have survived? It's really fascinating to think about. But I'm glad we are seperate people.

I feel sorry for the babies. The fact their "parent" would let their "dead" baby be put on display... I know its so others can see and what not, but... eh, I don't really agree with it. Then again, thats just my opinion. Interesting picture nonetheless, and quite spooky at the same time.

reminds my of a short story i read to "Nagib Mahfouz" where the conjoined twins live .
... its in humane to display a dead body ...yet it is very powerful (beyond the medical prespective).

They died shortly after birth, and surgeons opened them up in an autopsy to see how their organs worked and then stitched them back together so they could be put on display.... what the hell did you think, someone just randomly stapled two babies together?
