With my wife being in the hospital and here weekly doctor's appointments since she got out of the hospital, I suddenly realized that I have NOT really drawn anything in weeks...or is it months?
I started to do some sketches for a long over due commission piece today and learned just how rusty I had become. Really BAD!.
So I decide to get warmed up. I just started doodling, and tried to get back in the swing. This is one of the THINGS that came of this exercise. A squid...far from anatomically correct, I use no reference, I just sketched it out quickly in pencil and then started inking. It's drawn on a sheet of scrap-booking paper with a scrubbed distressed wall sort of finish. I thought it looked like it was under the sea. It felt good to be drawing again and with no pressure to do something for $$$. I think it helped. Inked with Faber-Castell india ink brush pen.
