Tonight was by far my best race in the Gen 4 car. As I said before I'm no fan of this car for its extreme edgy nature. However this week for the first time ever, I had a good feel for it. For starters they were in Kansas. Oh and incase you ask where I am in this image, I'm in the Jeff Gordon Rainbow Warrior paint scheme (second car on the inside right) This was my second race in this series this week. I could have finish top 5 in the last one, but a moron ran me over on a mid race restart and ruined my race I came back to finish 8th. So tonight I gave it another go. I started 3rd and really wasn't getting anywhere because of 2 early yellows. Once we finally did I was able to run top 5 and my god I was so shocked how good I was doing. Next thing I know I was able to take the lead and was leading a Gen 4 cup race for the first time! I lead 20 laps. We then had a green flag pitstop which was interrupted by a caution. I was trapped a lap down, but luckily I got the wave around and was back in the game. We then had another yellow when a lap car ran over another lap car on a restart. That was a big break for me cause I had to restart behind the lap cars at the time. With this yellow I restarted ahead of the lappers and was 8th on what was the last restart since we went green the rest of the way, Within 2 laps I went from 8th to 3rd! I then got to 2nd and it was a possibility I can win this. That went away after I smack the wall with 9 to go and hurt my right front. I then fell back to 3rd and finished there in the end. So I was pissed, but not as much as I would cause I didn't expect to run well in these cars so the fact I was fast, had top 5 speed, led laps and had a shot to win. What more can you ask for? I'm proud of this and hope the next one will be as they say "third times the charm"
