Description One of my favorite characters from Marvel Comic's Avengers. Sersi is a member of the God-like race known as the Eternals. Virtually immortal and able to restructure the molecules of objects to make anything she pleases, Sersi was often mistaken for the Greek Goddess Circe.

The ultimate hedonist and party girl, Sersi often threw parties in ancient times that became legend.

After joining the Avengers in modern times Sersi fell in love with her fellow teammate Dane Whitman, the Black Knight. Despite their many differences the two became lovers and after a long and sometimes stormy relationship the two parted ways.

I decided to show Sersi in a quiet corner of Olympus wearing the Black Knight's old Avengers jacket and sitting next to one of his spare helmets and thinking of her lost love.

Special thanks to my friend Kelly [link] for posing.

Well Superman and Lois Lane were doing good until that New 52 bullshit broke them up. Same with Spidey and MJ until Aunt my almost died for the billionth time and Peter made a deal with Mephisto to save her. Which really why hasn't this backfired yet? Every other deal with a demon is supposed to go bad at some point.Β

Still, that just proves my point. No comic couples stay together except for Reed and Sue. Not to mention that Peter and MJ briefly separated prior to OMD. Sad thing is, comic books are written by a bunch of commitment-phobes.

I wasn't disagreeing with you just saying there have been some that lasted a long time before these nuts decided to break them up for shock value. Personally I think it's sad that they have some sort of unwritten rule that only Reed and Sue get to stay together and everyone else breaks up.

Like as much as I loved seeing Wonder Man with Scarlet Witch when they broke up and he started dating Carol Danvers I wanted that one to last. Same when it was Vision and Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Crystal, Sersi and Black Knight, Shroud and Julia Carpenter, Captain America and Diamondback, Hawkeye and Mockingbird, Hank Pym and Tigra, Jocasta and Machine Man... I mean shit all these people can't be this bad in relationships.

I can understand wanting to keep Tony Stark single but Cap? He's supposed to be the straight-laced American with old fashioned ideals. The guy should have a wife. And everyone else are sort of B-List characters. What was it hurting keeping them married or having them have a stable relationship?

I agree with the most with the exception of Wonder Man/Scarlet Witch. I'd say why but considering your avatar I'd rather not step on toes.

Your not stepping on toes. Simon loved Wanda for years from afar but he could never bring himself to tell her because by the time he came out of his coma Vision, whose brain patterns were based on Simon's brain, was already with her and they were married. When they got together it was after years of build up. And while I loved them together I still liked him with Ms. Marvel Carol Danvers better. I prefer Wanda with Vision but considering all the shit that went down the past few years I don't see them getting back together.

Yeah, Wanda's been through quite a bit in recent years. Going crazy and altering the whole multiverse and all that fun stuff.

Yeah I wasn't a fan of all that. It just felt forced and came out of nowhere.

Spider-Bat700 In reply to MJMJR [2014-04-27 22:37:38 +0000 UTC]

It wasn't all bad. It did get rid of Jack-Of-Hearts after all. Not to mention it left some serious long-term consequences for the X-Men thanks to the whole "No More Mutants" thing.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to Spider-Bat700 [2014-04-27 23:29:24 +0000 UTC]

I actually liked Jack of Hearts and he and all the Avengers she killed came back eventually.

But still I felt the entire thing was just forced and the thing that set her off was stupid since she had already known her kids were gone and essentially "dead" for years at that point. She had moved on with her life and developed into a stronger character because of it. Then out of the blue she turns batshit crazy/evil and boom dead Avengers and reality warps because Wasp makes an offhand comment one day? It's just bullshit.

I don't mind if someone wants to turn a character into a villain if it's done naturally, but this happened completely out of nowhere and it reverted her character back to being insane like she was when she first lost her kids and Magneto corrupted her.

The No More Mutants thing didn't really affect me one way or another since I had given up reading the X-Men in the mid 1990s when the stories became them whining all the time and the continuity was all over the place.

He did? Oh right. Eh, so much for that. I never saw the point of the character.

I agree he never felt he was right for the Avengers. Jack of Hearts is more of a cosmic character along the lines of Silver Surfer so he works better in that sort of setting rather than on Earth. Last I saw he got a better version of his classic armor to help him control his energy powers and helped defeat a zombie clone version of the Squadron Supreme before taking off for space again.

Part of the reason I didn't like that character was because I did find his costume to be a bit of an eyesore. Could you show me what his new duds look like? Depending on the design I might just start to like him more.

It's based on his opriginal costume/armor rather than the crap armor he wore as an Avenger

Eh, that still looks a lot like his Avengers outfit to me. And it's still an eyesore.Β

It's like I said it's based on his original 1970s costume which is inspired by his father's obsession with playing cards. So it's not meant to be pretty just a tribute to his old man.

Β

This was the Avengers armor I was talking about img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20…

Β

And this was the armor he had between the Avengers and his original outfit Β www.coverbrowser.com/image/sil…

Β

He was actually so popular from his appearances in Deadly Hands of Kung-Fu and other Marvel books he got his own limited series goodcomics.comicbookresources.…

Β

Even if you hate his armor he's actually a pretty good character concept wise. marvel.wikia.com/Jonathan_Hart…

Well I'm digging the first armor at least. Gives him kind of a knight vibe. Him and Black Knight should have teamed up.

It would have been fun seeing him with Dane. I'm hoping Jack pops up in the new Silver Surfer series.

Still as bad as Jack of Heart's outfits were they don't hold a candle to how sucky some of Wonder Man's past outfits were. I love Wonder Man but he has had some of the poorest costume designs.

I'm going to try and do a nice mix of characters for the photos you gave me so some you will recognize and some you might not. Either way I hope you will like seeing yourself as them

Welcome and thanks so much! I always try to do that with most of the pieces I put up here, especially if I use an actual person as the model.

I also can't take full credit for the piece since Kelly's pose and look really inspire the picture more than anything.

awesome! the expression in her face clearly show she is pinning for him and some cake lol. I really like how you did the shading (there is a name for it i just can't remember damn) the best part would definately have to be her face the angle and simplicity works well. oh the sun rays and reflection on the helmet is great they make this picture more 3D. GREAT picture
