hehe yeah and she was totally repulsed by him I think the greatest scene in that sotryline was Deadpool on the AIM spaceship and tells the pilot to "Fly casual" and the guy talks about how he liked the Star Wars prequils better than the original movies and Deadpool says nothing and blasts his head off then starts screaming at the other AIM agent " Say Jar Jar Binks is an Abomination! SAY IT!"

I have to say Deadpool is one of the only consistantly funny comics I read besides Twisted Toyfare Theatre.

It's the confsuing plot-line and sick humor that keeps me reading it.

Yes and Istill love Venom even if he sounds horrible in the cartoons, he's still as phsyco-pathic and insane as he'll ever be in the comics. (In one comic he was eating his neighbors squirrles)

MJMJR In reply to catgirl-of-dc-house [2010-04-16 00:19:47 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's the new Venom, Mac Gargan. I can give or take him sometimes. I liked him in Thunderbolts but when he was a Dark Avengers I wasn't really impressed with him. Granted he was funny and I liked how he was always trying to eat enemies but he didn't have much of a personality beyond that.

I miss Eddie Brock as Venom. I thought he looked cooler in the suit and really fucked with Parker's life worse than Gargan has ever done. I mean the guy used to show up at Aunt May's house and Peter would have to deal with this maniac popping up out of nowhere half the time.

Yes, Eddie Brock is the best Venom around, and actually the most empathetic of them all. (I still Lol whenever I think of Carnage as his kid, but it's kind of disturbing until you learn how symbiotes increase their population.)

hehe yeah. I have a friend who absolutely worships Carnage and the rest of the symbiotes. I miss all the Venom limited series Marvel used to make when I was growing up. I loved Lethal Protector and Sinner Take All.

I haven't read those yet, but they sound awsome! Though I hate how the cartoons always tone him waaaay down. I know it's a show for children, but still, they just ruin him. Lol I used to worship carnage and Venom when I was a kid.

MJMJR In reply to catgirl-of-dc-house [2010-04-17 11:01:18 +0000 UTC]

They did the Venom limited series mostly throughout the 1990s when Venom was sort of trying to be a hero but his version of being a hero was murdering any bad guy that came near him and teaming up with some other psychopath to do it. I'm not sure but I think some of them have been collected into trade paperbacks or hardcover books.

Hehehe and yeah, they toned him way down for the cartoons I still laugh at the episodes of the old Spidey cartoon where Punisher, Morbius and Carnage are running amok and nobody really dies

hehehe I forgot that part. I just remember Morbius sucked "plasma" out of his victims using his hands. And the Punisher never managed to land a shot unless it was a non-lethal one, like using a net gun

MJMJR In reply to catgirl-of-dc-house [2010-04-18 10:24:01 +0000 UTC]

hehe yeah. I really don't get why Marvel can't follow the example of the successful ones that DC produced. I think Batman:The Animated Series, Justice League and Superman:TAS are all masterpieces. They never really dumbed down the characters or took away too much of their edge when telling a story and they could be enjoyed by everyone, not just little kids.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

catgirl-of-dc-house In reply to MJMJR [2010-04-18 16:31:11 +0000 UTC]

Yes. The justice league was made for kids, but they didn't toe the characters down, and some episodes were actually pretty dark.

MJMJR In reply to catgirl-of-dc-house [2010-04-18 22:46:46 +0000 UTC]

yeah, like The Question. He was more like Rorschack than before, which is funny considering the Question was the inspiration for that character in Watchmen.

I enjoyed that a lot actually.

catgirl-of-dc-house In reply to MJMJR [2010-04-19 15:12:32 +0000 UTC]

I never read the question, though yes, I heard Rorshcach was based off of him.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to catgirl-of-dc-house [2010-04-19 17:51:39 +0000 UTC]

The Question was always somewhat paranoid in the comics but he got worse as time went on. Yes, Rorschach and all most of the Watchmen characters were based on the characters Charlton Comics owned that DC bought when the company folded.

Blue Beetle, Captain Atom, The Question and a few others were the bases for them.

catgirl-of-dc-house In reply to MJMJR [2010-04-20 00:19:11 +0000 UTC]

Ah I didn't know that. Alan moore sure was p***** off when they made the movie. Though I don't really blame him.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to catgirl-of-dc-house [2010-04-20 00:32:32 +0000 UTC]

Alan Moore is always pissed when someone uses his concepts and I can't say I blame him either. As much as I love Watchmen it still doesn't pack in the layers of material Moore put into his novel.

And let's face it, V for Vendetta and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen were both terrible. I would be pissed too if someone basterdized my work like that as well

btw you can feel free to curse when we talk, it doesn't offend me

catgirl-of-dc-house In reply to MJMJR [2010-04-20 00:38:08 +0000 UTC]

I haven't read those yet, also I'm not to big on cursing, it's a house rule. I saw vandetta in the book store but it was wrapped up so I couldn't read it.

hehe okay, but just in case you slip up don't worry, I won't freak out if you curse

The book for V for Vendetta is pretty good but they probably wrapped it because of the sex and nudity in it as well as the crazy violence.

nnggg. Doesn't sound too good. I'm for a good plot and all, but nowadays some comics go waaayy over board with the nudity and sex.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to catgirl-of-dc-house [2010-04-20 01:33:40 +0000 UTC]

It's not like one of those where the sex is thrown into the story for shock value and really it's very minimal compared to what he showed in the Watchmen comic and his later works.

The book is more about this man called V and his fight against a corrupt future version of England's government. there is so much more to it than that but I don't want to ruin it for you in case you buy it.

Nah it's fine. aso today in art class I spotted the V Vandetta comic amongst the pile of binders and I was all: Gasps! I want to read! but I had no idea who owned it, so I left it alone.

I didn't want the owner to get mad at me. Kids at my school are pretty particular about who gets to touch their possesions. (Yes even me to the point where I wanted to slap a girl for doodling (Graffiting) my binder XD)

It's to the oint where some kid will slap another kid's hand away and glare. I hiss and then glare.

You should hiss in a deep voice that you'll swallow their souls. That usually helps keep people away from you and your stuff.
