Description Young Munstrum Ridcully and Esmerelda Weatherwax. I thought the affair between them more-than-aluded-to in Lords and Ladies was too damn adorable.

So here's Ridcully, all football-player like hoping for some "smoochy-shmoos" and Esme's like, "oh I know what you want and yer not gittin it." aw.

Characters from Discworld, property of Terry Pratchett.

EDIT: HAI GUYZ--in lords and ladies, young Esme is ESSENTIALLY magrat. She's got flowers entwined in her hair, it's a summer fling, she actually had feelings for Ridcully--but as you can see, I definately hold respect for Granny Weatherwax's pride--she's not *leaning* into Ridcully, it's not a slash piece. Terry Pratchett has the excellent writing skillz to extrapolate information. I was lead to believe that Granny's proud, restrained, and traditional witchness came after she crossed paths with the Elves.
But whatever. So the "blasphemous" comments are uniformed. That's all I'm sayin'. Done.

Excellent proportions and use of lines. The lines are crisp and clean, the colours are natural the facial expressions are realistic. β˜ΊοΈπŸ‘Œ

This is gorgeous! And I love her sweetly smug expression--very young Esme in my opinion (even though we see so very little of her).

This is just fabulous! they both look great! (I too, initially though Verence is looking rather demure- but now I get a closer look Ridcully remindes me more of Trev which would be how he was!) Brilliant!

When I listened to Lords and Ladies the revealed history between Granny Weatherwax and Ridcully was definitely the highlight of the book. Pratchett's skills in defining characters in separate story lines and having them connect to each other in such logical ways is very enjoyable. Ridcully's charmingly belligerent, ignorant optimism and single minded honesty and Granny's pride, sarcasm and ultimate lack of control of her interests (she loves the attention here, come'on!) are really well protrayed in this pic.
To those of you who mistake her for Magrat, she's not mousey, lackluster, semideflated or anything, hell, her hair looks good, so it can't be her.
A nice Terry Pratchett piece, I love looking for TP artwork while listening to the books on audio, and this is one of the better ones, for what it does, that I've found on deviantart.

That’s Granny? Seriously? Heck, here I was thinking it was Magrat. I need to read Lords and Ladies now - my brain almost exploded at seeing that. I think it’s just having issues imaging Granny at any age younger than 60…

Great illustration though - and the young Mustrum is spot-on.

…
*mutters dazedly* Granny Weatherwax and Arch-Chancellor Ridcully… who’d have thought…

I totally love this, and I don't think it's off the mark at all. EXCEPT that didn't Ridcully say her hair was so blonde it was almost white? I was imagining her with dark hair, too, which is why I remember.

Not that it matters much because Granny spends 99.9% of the books old. : ) I love it, INCLUDING the canon flowers. Awesome.

Oh, lovely. Definitely Esme, and definitely Ridcully. I saw the thumbnail, and clicked, all ready to go into a "Magrat is blonde, you fool! And the Fool doesn't wear norma-looking clothes!" But then I saw the face, and thought, "wait a minute; that's not Magrat at all!", and read the title. I then thought, "Oooohhh, of COURSE", and felt -extraordinarily- silly.

PS. I just realised there's a mood for llama!

I don't think that this is too far off the mark. Ridcully is always referred to as having charm and being athletic, and in his youth, well, he might have been like this. Maybe the young Esme had a touch of Magrattiness to her, despite her toughness, and seeing it in Magrat brings up disturbing memories. Ridcully described the young Esme as "striking-looking" more than beautiful, and that's right. Not to everyone's taste, but plausible. Thanks for posting this!
