... to tango. And a computer to snap the photos.and I spent a few hours this afternoon at White Sands National Monument. Of course, the usual thing you'd expect to do, when you're at White Sands with a beautiful model who does nudes, is to shoot hundreds of "pretty naked girl in sand" pictures. And, of course, I did that. But, unbeknownst to her, I had secret schemey schemes up my sleeve - I brought along my old tux and a dress that went well with it... I wanted to shoot something that was at least a little outside of the usual fake Weston framework.
To shoot this I used Breeze's DSLR remote pro, with my camera hooked to a laptop via USB, and told it to fire 100 shots at 5 second intervals. Then we just got out there and jammed.

Since the beautiful Goddess Courtney already brought it up (even though in jest), I think I'll state for the record that the footprints add a REALLY strong sense of movement to the image for me. It gave me the impression that I already have the recent memory of watching them walk from the table we all shared (at the camera's location) to the 'dance floor' and the scene is still playing out, adding more and more to what will become my full memory & perspective of what happened at that moment. It's far different than the perspective either of them will have at the end of the dance, I'm sure, so that makes this a very "personal" memory in the making that belongs only to ME. (well, and anyone else who sees it here lol)
So, even though you tried to clean it up a bit in PS, the 'dirty parts' you eventually chose to leave (too much work?) is what actually made this such a moving piece to me. Maybe the lesson here is that you can easily take away the best part of the capture by trying to make it too perfect. I'm glad you chose to stop shopping when you did.
And for Sarah (who looks absolutely Ravishing and 'at home' in this unexpected role)
GREAT job, Kids!

Thanks for your comments!
Yes, the footprints leave a necessary perspective and thereby establish front to back depth.
I didn't think about it much, though. I don't do art to think. I'm just glad you liked it!

"I don't do art to think"
That is the only correct approach during the shoot if you want to be good at it, but my concern is that many photographers do too much thinking during the post work. I'm very glad you stopped when you did.

Damn if the footprints don't ruin this, you should do something about that.
....I'm kidding, really. xD
Kickass as usual.

We thought about coming over the dune to keep the footprints down, but thought that it'd be too surreal. I actually photoshopped some prints out.

Excellent use of the desert.
The stark beauty compliments the motion and costuming in really unusual ways. Very nicely done.

If I dare, the first step you work in private and if they approve it to upload in the Da.

Well that's a big duh. I only know what I"m told sometimes. But seriously? If you bowed up at that comment, it wasn't the intent since I don't take cheap shots at people who count. People who matter get a direct opinion. Which means if you bowed up at all you don't know everything either. Lighten up. Or not.

... to tango...very nice, Marcus
I'm excited to know you like this dance. My office emplacΓ© working inside the soul of tango, "San Pedro Telmo", still beats and breathes tango.
When you come together and enjoy my friend ...
We propose to truth, but is this proposal very seriously.
When you come to Buenos Aires ... I hope you with open arms and hearts of gift.
You see the beauty that is the night of my city, and day, do not reach the eyes to see ...

I was in Buenos Aires back in 1999 or 2000 (I forget which) and it is, indeed, a beautiful city. The tango I learned was american ballroom style - not anywhere near as dynamic as the argentine style. It's beautiful, though!
Thank you for writing me!
