Very touching and beautiful tribute, Maria. My kids are almost 14 and 18... it breaks my heart to think of those parents who lost their child so young. Also the parents who lost their daughters (teachers)... I can't even imagine their pain. Doesn't matter how old you are, there is absolutely nothing in this world for parents to loosing their child. It hurts me to think of those children who went through this nightmare. I really hope time will ease their pain.

We lost one stillborn between sons one and two. Even that hit me like a freight train.

About 35 years ago. I think because it hit me so hard I got past it quicker. Life goes on. For Corky, the initial shock was tempered by anesthesia, exhaustion, and the general relief of not being pregnant any more. So it took long to hit her, and a lot longer to get past it.
