Description
In Florida these turtles are protected because the burrows they create to live in is used by 350 other species of animals once the turtle has moved on. There is a much larger one who lives in the middle of the lot next door to where I am moving. We feed them lettuce and watermelon rinds, cantaloupe rinds and the like. This one trucks all around the neighborhood on the cart paths of the unused golf course.Related content

Oh he is! Sometimes I’ll be in the pool and here he comes trucking along on the cart path over to his mound , He climbs up, then he slides very fast, down into burrow.

Yeah! I’m really happy that my new neighbor is the exact same type of turtle . They really are cute.
