I actually painted this one at the same time as "Guarded Window," but I did not realize I hadn't uploaded it until now... I was just starting to get a little more experimental with my color palette, having done a lot of very muted paintings before this, along with some paintings that had only two or three colors. At the time I remember thinking it would look terrible and random, but when it was done, I really liked it. Thank you! I use a combination of acrylic paint, India ink, pencil and glue on Masonite. In a few recent paintings, I've started using oils as well. The texture on the tree is just paint that's been splattered randomly, sanded and covered with glue, so you are seeing it through the translucent glue. The lines of the background are painted on top of the glue surface. So there are several layers in all...
