i've also tried putting white stripes of different widths vertically down over the car, but it kinda draws more attention to the wheels

Ah, I see, I think I would agree that the whole car should be present, it frames quite nicely, but the shape seems somehow arkward. This is nevertheless a great picture, and please don't be put down by my slight criticisms!
