The song can really fit with this. Prussia was a high power back then, but then everything came crashing down in 1947.

I absolutely love how you draw the background/scenery, it's not just thrown together, it draws the eyes just as much (or even more) than Prussia does, it's awesome.
If you ever wanted to make a tutorial on how you color your backgrounds, I would love that ^^

Seriously, I found this pic JUST as coldplay came on Itunes and started playing Viva la Vida.
Fate it a great thing. Aside from that I can almost feel the inspiration from the song woven into the art. I don't know why, I can't really put my finger on it, but I do thing this is in the top 20 fave. art pieces I've found on dA. That's even after the song was over.

Great choice... somehow that song is SO MADE for Prussia...
To the picture... I love it. Wonderful mood, soft, translucent coulors... the use of the symbols... (I mean, Gil, waving the German flag, stepping though the Brandenburg Gate. With many eagles around. And... you can't see his face. Is he happy? Calm? Nervous? Anxious, because he knows the coming years wont be easy either...
... I think you captured the reunition pretty well here.

Very dramatic, I see a lot of fan-art of Hetalia but like anything else - it's not every day you see one so artistic and dramatic with a fitting theme. Nice colour choices too
