I don't want to nitpick but the portrayed flag is actually belogs to the Federal Republic of Germany that is in use since 1949. The civil flag doesn't feature the eagle though. In combination with the ensign the flag is called "Bundesdienstflagge" and is only used in military context for example.
The flag of Prussia was black/white/black and featured another ensign of an eagle. See [link] for more.

I was also really surprised when I read "Prussia" but saw the flag of the Federal Republic of Germany o.O

Hate to nitpick, but Prussia in the peice was the portrayal of the Kingdom of Prussia that lasted from 1701-1918, which was subsequentially replaced by the Free State of Prussia which lasted from 1917 until the dissolution de jure of the Prussian Territory by the Allied Forces in 1947.

It was mentioned by the creator of Hetalia himself that Prussia was put under Russia's control in 1949 as the Deutsche Demokratische Republik, then when the Wall fell Germany and Prussia were finally unified as Bundesrepublik Deutschland, which is the flag he is holding. :>

I think noted by the Brandenburg Gate being in the background, that this peice of art was symbolism of Eastern and Western Germany being united once more.

Since I'm german I know my countrys history. All I wanted to say is that the portrayed flag is not the prussian flag. It's just the quoted lyrics in the description that made me think that the artist made a mistake. Also Prussia was never reunited since a great part of the territory was annexed by Russia and Poland and still is part of these countrys to this day. The territory of the GDR that was reunited with the FGR was only a small part compared to the one of Prussia.

You're only partially right. The thing is, the Bundesrepublik can be tracked down a direct line to the Prussian state, including its legal obligations. The current german structures, though currently unknown to most germans, are basicly the ones prussia introduced to the german Empire in 1871.

Also, Prussia originated in the Mark Brandenburg and only later got extended to eastern Prussia, even though there it was where it developed its repuation.
