i vectored berry punch yay man this is one of my most correct vectors i have done of a canon pony and why berry punch i have no idea lol
time spent making 1 hour
program used to make man gimp is awesome and can make good vectors with good practice

Wow, very nice for a GIMP vector.
1 hour you say? wow! Takes me 4 to 8 hours in GIMP to make a vector pony, depending on the pony. Guess with time, practice will help me get faster eventually. Any tips on how I can increase my speed?
Some are recommending I switch to Inkscape or Ponyscape to vector. I probably already would have, but I can't get the eyes right with the "clipping" feature. Nothing seems to work for me, no matter what instructions I try to follow. I feel like Rainbow Dash, no learning method is working for me. Epic fail on my part I guess, so I have to stay with GIMP for now.

well i switched to ponyscpe witch is inkscape and ponyscape is better in my opinion and ponyscape-vectors.deviantart.c… is a ponyscape group and the Lead Developer guy in the group made that version of inkscape and he has videos on youtube step by step on some things
if you had a Skype i would show you how i do the eyes and such

Yes, I've already gone to the ponyscape-vectors group and asked for help a few weeks ago. I have had Flutterguy317 tell me Ponyscape is dead and no longer supported, go use another vector program. I've asked for help in the ponyscape-vectors group too, but been completely ignored, so I guess Ponyscape is dead. I've even sent notes to some who said they used Ponyscape and would help if asked, but they either don't read notes or no longer use Deviantart. Maybe clipping is hard to explain and they just don't have time to deal with it, totally understandable, clipping appears quite hard.
Thanks for the offer to help if I had Skype, I'd sure take you up on that. I'm sure I'll eventually figure out the "clipping" thing in Ponyscape, just have to keep at it. Hopefully, like Rainbow Dash, I'll eventually find a teaching method that will work for me and I'll understand it one day. Practice makes perfect like they say.
Quick question though, why did you switch from GIMP to Ponyscape? From your earlier Deviantart posts in 2013, it looked like you really liked GIMP to make vectors from your comments. What happened to cause the change at the beginning of 2014 to Ponyscape? Even your above comment for this art post, "gimp is awesome and can make good vectors with good practice", but you said that back in August 2013.

well i learned gimp is a image manipulation not a vector program and i said that when i did not know how to use ponyscape now that i know it is much easier to make pics in ponyscape than gimp tho at times i might use both becouse there are somethings that gimp can do that ponyscape cant but like brushes and such
and he says its dead because he is working on a better program that can make vectors animations use brushes and more and will have things that ponyscape will have and more but it will go by a different name but being dead means it wont be updated to a better version but it works fine and you dont haft to switch at least until he comes out with the new thing he is coming out with
as for the clipping it is hard to explain in words i recommend this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDhD5a… for eyes and it teaches clipping i hope this helps and if you need any more help feel free to ask i think that's what this site is for to help fellow artists
