Gen 4 is one of my favorite generations: 1. the physical/special split and 2. new evolutions for older pokemon (Mismagius, Froslass, and Dusknoir being three of my favorites)

Great generation of Pokemon. Favorites are Roserade, Rampardos, Mismagius, Honchkrow, Garchomp, Lucario, Hippowdon, Drapion, Snover, and almost every single new evolution of an old Pokemon (minus only Probopass, which is ugly). Favorites of those are Togekiss, Dusknoir, Yanmega, Frosslass, and my two faves, Porygon-Z and Weavile.
