When you think of fighting games there are a couple series that would probably come to mind. You are probably thinking about Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Super Smash Brothers, Marvel Vs Capcom, Tekken, or Soul Calibur. You probably aren't thinking about Samurai Showdown, a classic 90s fighting game series that hasn't made a game in over a decade. This game series is all about awesome character designs fighting with badass weapons until one of the two falls. It takes place in Feudal Japan yet doesn't limit itself to that region since it has fighters from all around the world. The main focus is on samurai, but that doesn't mean their can't also be ninjas, knights, elementals, monsters, and demons on the roster. I am so glad that this series is finally coming back after being dormant for so long. It is easily one of my favorite fighting game franchises of all time and is also criminally underrated. Here are my top ten favorite Samurai Showdown characters. Honorable mentions include Hanzo, Galford, Nicotine, Gaira, Shizumaru, Zankuro, Yoshitora, Gaoh, Andrew, Iroha, Sugoroku, Kyoshiro, and Asura. Now on to the list.
