2002 was an absolutely fantastic year for animation. The medium was firing on all cylinders that year with plenty of really good cartoons animated movies, and anime. Here are my top ten favorite things in animation 2002. Honorable mentions include iMucha Lucha!, What's New Scooby Doo, Chalkzone, Spirit Stallion Of The Cimarron, and Pokemon Heroes. Now on to the list.10. The Cat Returns

This year also had the release of Fillmore! as well as Libertyβs Kids. If you havenβt seen them Iβd recommend giving them a watch.Β

Kim Possible was probably my favorite out of all of them.

Itβs really a shame that Treasure Planet bombed at the box office, and while I can see the movies flaws. Itβs still a good underrated movie, not as good as the other underrated Disney movie, Alantis:the lost Empire, but still good.
Fun-fact: There was going to be a sequel, and possibly a tv spin off series.Β

If both movies got their own tv shows, do you think theyβd be as good as their movie counterparts.
I mean a treasure planet tv series would be like Disneyβs version of pirates of black water.
And Atlantis the lost Empire would be kind of like Legend Quest on Netflix.

They could be good, but it is far too late at this point.

Yeah thatβs kind of sad.
But I guess Disney could always make some tv shows similar to Treasure planet and Atlantis, premise wise that is. Like they could always make a cartoon about pirates set in a steampunk sci-fi setting, and a cartoon with a gang of specialists solving mysteries and fighting the supernatural.

I would have put Cyberchase on this list. Loved the show as a kid and it still holds up fairly well.
