So yeah, this one I've been working for a while. What with the holidays I kept having to stop at certain points and get back to it the next day.
I've noticed quite a few people in the Brony fandom who are also TLK fans. So, I did my first real Cross-Over Art.
First times in this piece:
1. Never drew Scar Before. (Or any Lion King character)
2. First time drawing Apple Jack.
3. Used the Pencil Brush for most of this piece. (Usually use the crayon tool instead)
4. Tried outlining in think black lines rather than color.
5. Attempted a sort of reflective heat on the ground in the BG. (Came out too blue)
6. Used a new brush for the grass in the foreground.
7. Never tried drawing more than 3 characters in the same piece.
Problems I've noticed with this piece so far.
1. Scar's head seems a little too small still.
2. Shadows are too light
3. Scar's Mane is a bit light (although I used the color picker from a screen shot, so that actually is the right color)
4. Scar looks a bit too much like Mufasa.
So, if you notice anything else don't hesitate to mention it! Now, off to finishing Karen Skulline.

Time taken: 7 hours 45 min total
Tools used: Wacom Bamboo Tablet, pencil tool, crayon tool, Pencil brush tool, curve tool, eraser, color picker, fill bucket.

Alrighty, nostrils added! (I was trying for a more stylized look since my other ponies don't have nostrils either. 0.o)
Except for Pinkie, her nostrils don't show at that angle. At least, not from what I see in the screen shot I based it on. Thanks!

Yeah, she looks weird to me too.
I tried looking up an episode in the show where she had her face turned up like that but I only found one of Sweetie Bell while she's arguing with Rarity.
That's actually how it looks, at least from what I've found. I did try adding the nose but it just made it worse some how.

aweee cute .3. I think its beautiful even with its errors, which i barely even noticed. The pencil tool makes it a lot more realistic.

Yeah, I noticed that too when I first messed around with it. The brush is smaller than the crayon tool, so it takes a lot more time to color with, but it's totally worth it for the effect. ^^
