A couple of days after the defeat of Nightfall in Wherever the Light Shines: Part 2, Mystic has been settling back in Sweet Apple Acres, albeit temporarily. Surrounded by friendship and being in Equestria, she goes out one night and looks up at the night sky for the first time in a long time...

"If I only could..."

If she only could, she'd make a deal with whatever Higher Being was out there and she'd get them to swap her and Sunshine's places, taking her friend's place in death so she could live.

I've come to realize that Mystic's story fit very well with Kate Bush's Running up that Hill lyrics,
"If I only could, I'd make a deal with God, and I'd get him to swap our places. Be running up that road. Be running up that hill."

Mystic's entire life has been an uphill battle, she's currently running up that hill.
