Exactly what the title says |DThis is a gift for my pokemon secret santa who wanted a lazy quagsire 8D So here we are ^w^

Interesting! At first glance, these colours put me in mind of a lush, tropical environment. They can also seem like a rough mass of green - but when I look closer, I see that the attention to detail in the background is really admirable. All those different shades... they look like they've been applied with such care. I love those vines coiling out - they look quite realistic, and the shading on them is wonderfully soft and delicate.
What's more, that background could be either the canopy of a rainforest or green clouds - just something I noticed.
You did well in making the quagsire the focus of attention, and, at the same time, in preventing it from dominating the picture: It's a comfortable, not-too-large size, it's in quite a central position (but not yelling out for attention by being right in the VERY centre of the picture), it's in the middle of that handy circle of plants, and, of course, it stands out from the green world by being a watery-blue colour.
It's not just its colour that gives the quagsire a very watery feel - there's also its smooth, rounded curves (that make it look like it's made of jelly), its lolloping position, its lovely faint, smooth shading, those spots of light reflecting off its surface, and that thing on its back that reminds me of frogspawn.
The plants on the forest floor have a yellowy-green colour, which I like for the variety it gives to the rest of the picture. However, I think these plants are a weakness of this piece. They look like rough paint-strokes, and seem quite out of place with the rest of the picture, especially the carefully coloured, realistic-looking vines above them.

It's nice to see you branching out and working more on landscape. I think you have a lot of potential.

And neither did my older sis, who beat the first game (All 150 for a cruddy prize - >_<
But yeah, then there was good ol' Crystal version which we never managed to get.
The heroine on that version I remember as being cool. Me, I still like the hero on the Gold and Silver versions best.

I encountered that thing in blue version when i was young. I thought it was a terrible glitch so i turned the game off as soon as it came on screen XD
