I never knew that was possible using colored pencils. How do you get the texture on the wall?

If you don't want to give your secret away, I understand

My colored pencils always turn out so grainy. I know it's not the pencils, it's me, but I've never really experimented.

You brought colored pencils to life! You amaze me.

thanks

i'm not sure about the texture.. i just tried to emulate a photo i had.

if your cp's are turning out grainy... try pressing harder. colouring with cp's gives my hand cramps LOL.. i basically push with them so that no more paper is visible. so try using something like stonehenge or something heavier, but with a very light tooth. you want the cp's to adhere well enough to the paper but without the paper destroying your pencils too quickly.

good luck!

This is simply magnificant! Reminds me a bit of Burne Hogarth, the face does, anyway (and that is a compliment!!).

Good god! I'm pretty sure everyone at first thought it was a photo....
I'm sure I could do just as well! (snickering, hits self in head with conveniently-nearby frying pan)

COLOURED PENCIL!?
The window is v. realistic, I almost mistook it for a photograph.

OH MY GOD. When I saw the thumbnail I seriously thought it was a photograph. I mean, the figure has some neat stylized shading goin' on, but the background is AWE-INDUCING. *stares*

yeah, the figure gives the painting away, but i wanted that too

the painting i'm working on right now will look more like a photograph in full.

thanks for the comment! i love your reboot drawings!!!

Wow, that's absolutely amazing. For one thing, it looks frighteningly real. What kind of colored pencils do you use? For another thing, the tones and the subjects of the picture are wonderful. They create alot of emotion. Very creative. This is such a great piece. : )
