What's wrong with Optimus???? He may be an Autobot, but it not fun when he dies. There is nothing wrong with Autobots. I like the Decepticons (especially Starscream) , but I like the Autobots to (especially BB, Jazz and Prowl). So there is no reason to celebrate the death of Optimus Prime.

(*Whispers* I guess I'm just a bit morbid. And it was a very exciting scene - action! Fighting! Imagery! And such!)
I agree that, really, the Autobots are pretty great, but part of it was just so refreshing to SEE something so morbid happen (something that implies an unhappy ending, which is so uncommon in Hollywood that I was very excited for it), as opposed to getting SO VERY CLOSE and missing out by THAT MUCH. Um. Difference! Tragedy! It's interesting, y'know?
I suppose I also just like stories where the bad guy is victorious. And when we're moving towards that ending in a story (even if we don't go there exactly), the emotion and playing-with-our-heart-strings and challenges and greater development of villians, is just, y'know, fun.
I don't want to offend anyone, Zadwon. It's just a bit of morbid fun I have. To this day, I still love that scene.
