I do too, hehe.
I bought these particular Buzz and Jessie figures at FAO Schwarz in NYC, but you can find the same ones at Toys R Us.

I just got that Jessie doll today I swear, I want all the characters. I want to get all the toys that are not only accurate in their designs, but also accurate in size. For example, I don't want a Buzz that's taller than Jessie.
I hate that the string that goes around her hat isn't painted white. I'm going to have to get some plastic white paint and get a tiny brush and do it myself C:
Right now I've got her hugging my Puss In Boots plush.

Isn't she adorableeee? The first few days I got her I couldn't put her down.
My Buzz is slightly taller than Jessie. I don't mind though, but it would be so much funnier for photos if Buzz were shorter, like in the movie.
Yeah! It's just some of the littlest things that annoy me. It looks like the rope is generating itself from the hat instead of being looped through it.
I've had Buzz hugging her with his karate chop action arm all day.

Which Buzz is it that you have, and where did you get it? Just in case I cave and get one. There's several different Buzzes out there in stores, and the one in your picture is incredibly accurate to the film Buzz.

I got mine at FAO Schwarz in Manhattan, though I've seen the exact same one at Walmart and Toys R Us. His packaging isn't a box, just sort of open, and he cost me $30. Might be cheaper depending on where you live.
His buttons don't work and he doesn't have a voicebox or wings, but all of the stickers are correct and he indeed is accurate to the film.

Hmm...I wonder if it's at Target. That's where I got Jessie. I think they have a Buzz Lightyear about five dollars cheaper than that that actually DOES talk.

Oh man! I wish my Buzz talked. Target always has great bargains; they are selling single Pizza Planet aliens and I want to get one.
Maybe I'll save up my money and get Buzz an intergalactic "brother"

I really want the Barbie and Ken combo set for some reason. They cracked me up. I also wish they had an exact replica of Hamm. I've always wanted a piggy bank, and what better piggy bank to have than Hamm? C:

Ken and Barbie were so cute in the movie! I thought at first that Ken was going to be the one to be a villain the whole way through the movie, not Lotso. Thankfully it was the other way around. Ken and Barbie are meant for each other!
I wish they had Dolly! She is so cute. AND VOICED BY BONNIE HUNT. Hehehe. And the Peas in a Pod. I was sad that they got an extremely minor part in the movie.
Hamm would be all kinds of awesome, though.

I kept believing until the garbage truck scene that he would turn around because HE'S TOO CUTE AND STRAWBERRY SCENTED TO BE EVIL! Oh, my. It seems I've been hypnotised by my Lots-O'-Huggin-Bear.
His backstory is absolutely heartbreaking though.

Cute photos! Guess they didn't mind posing for a few pictures, haha. x3 These two figures look great together! The whole TS3 line is just awesome and so film-accurate! I'm really impressed with the quality of these figures. You should've totally attempted to get a snapshot of Buzz holding Jessie up but I'm not sure if ya can. I know my Toy Story Collection Buzz can't hold up the TSC Jessie like he does in the film. I WAS SAD. But then, she's really floppy like she is in the movie so it's film-accurate and amazing and junk but at the same time when ya wanna take photos it's like ffffffjargbliahgagbrrdjh! If I want any photos, she'll either have to sit, or be put on her stand which clips onto her neck. D:

mmmpapimay In reply to Vega-Three [2010-06-22 20:57:28 +0000 UTC]
Thank you
Haha, well, it was either pose for pictures or be doomed to the suitcase (I was on a trip at the time these were taken). And you know that Jessie doesn't like storage.
These aren't the deluxe versions (obviously) but the detail is still quite accurate indeed. I'm impressed.
Buzz's karate action arm is in a way that it's very hard to get him to pose like that. So it's not possible
D: I'm glad I got the 12inch Barbie-like body edition then, lol. Movable arms and legs that bend at the joint. At least your Jessie looks more realistic than mine--and her hat probably stays on her head for more than 5 seconds. x3
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
Vega-Three In reply to mmmpapimay [2010-06-22 22:35:46 +0000 UTC]
Well, of course! I honestly hope I don't ever have to put Jessie into storage. She's too awesome! I quite like the versions you have. They're actually meant to be played with by children and kinda roughed up a bit. I think the Toy Story Collection toys are wonderful, but I wouldn't just give them to a kid and let 'em go wild. I feel they're kinda delicate. I wish MY Buzz had karate chop action too, but I guess it's something they couldn't do what with all the electronics and how the wings are.
The reason the TSC Jessie can't be held up by the Buzz from the same line is because her head is rather heavy (and my Buzz's arms are broken in and easy to move/lose). I think it has the speaker in it for her pull string. Honestly, your Jessie is pretty close to the "deluxe" versions. Now, obviously her body is plastic and not fabric with stuffing but she has the yarn hair and a nice expression on her face and her clothes are detailed accurately. Have you ever seen the ones from when TS2 came out? Haha, not even close to how she looked.
As for her hat... yes it stays on (it even has a little stretchy string thinger inside you can pull over her head so the hat could hang around her neck) but I've found if I tilt her it falls off pretty easily. It's currently sitting on the stand she came with. Jessie herself is currently sitting in front of Buzz, haha.

mmmpapimay In reply to Vega-Three [2010-06-23 00:00:57 +0000 UTC]
And I wish my Buzz had wings. Ahahaha If You Had Wings~ Magic Kingdom nostalgia jokes.
Thanks I like my Buzz and Jessie as well ahaha. I'd probably be afraid to take the deluxe versions out of the box. No, not really, but I'd be petrified of damaging them.
I haven't seen the ones from when TS2 came out because I was only about 6 then and I only had (now sold, unfortunately) Woody and a plush Buzz. I'm so fortunate that they look so detailed now. Her expression is literally what she looks like in the film; even during the When She Loved Me sequence. I'm glad toy-making has evolved since the last film, ahaha.
I wish my Jessie had a pull string! But then she'd be just like you said..difficult to pose. Just like my Woody with his pull string.
Awesome. I wish mine had a string, it must be easier than what I have to try to deal with.
Haha, cute. Mine is in a karate-chop-action hold with Buzz. So I don't lose track of her. Ahahah.

Vega-Three In reply to mmmpapimay [2010-06-23 00:29:53 +0000 UTC]
Nah, there's no need to be afraid of unboxing them. You can get them at Toys R Us for about $45 which includes tax. I admit to getting Jessie at the Disney Store for $59.50 because I had finally found her and I wasn't going to stop anywhere else (and my $20 gift card hefted some of the bill) but you can definitely get them at a decent price. Not only that, I feel they're sturdy enough for the average collector but I wouldn't go around tossing them or dropping them from very high places. Mostly Buzz though because of the kind of plasic they made him with.
If you ever decide to look up the older Jessie toys, just prepare yourself. Some of them are quite creepy. They look as if they're gonna kill you in your sleep. YIKES. I have noticed that the cheaper versions of these guys use similar if not the same face models as their high-end counterparts which I thought was fantastic. If you really want a pull string, you could probably get some supplies to make it at a crafts store. It'd be a simple, really tiny gromit, a string, and a ring. I think it'd be neat if they made a version with a wire frame inside just for posing/displaying kinda like those Muppet replica things they made. Those were rather pricey though.
Now going back to Buzz, the thing that really would've been awesome is if Thinkway would've actually produced him in Taiwan just like in the film. I haven't actually tested the string in Jessie's hat, but I know it's tough to get over her head based on a review I watched. There's reviews on all the toys out so far if you wanna check them out.
And your Jessie isn't in a karate-chop-action hold. No... That's a hug right there from Buzz. I don't think you'll have to worry about losing track of her. x3 Gee, I really need to photo my guys. Gotta figure out where I stuck my camera first though.

I wish I had a Disney Store near me. I would probably never go home.
I'm lucky I didn't have a Jessie doll as a kid, ahaha. I would have probably been scared off from the franchise.
I think it might be worth the price, if you're the kind of collector who loves doing photoshoots with your collection My friend had one of those Muppet Whatnots (which is what I think you're talking about) and they're very worth the price.
Ooh, thanks for that information. I might look at some of those.
Aahahh good analysis I can't wait to see some photos from you.

Vega-Three In reply to mmmpapimay [2010-06-23 02:01:27 +0000 UTC]
Oohh, Muppet Whatnots! Those are like $100 bucks and I think they're cool! I wish they had more options to choose from when you make them. But they weren't what I was talking about. They made replica puppets of Kermit a while back that cost a couple hundred or so. Really expensive but nice for collectors.
I have a Jessie doll from my childhood, but it's on a true Barbie base. This is the one my Buzz can hold up. And yes, she IS shorter than Buzz, haha.
[link] She's the only cute one from the time, IMO.
Thank you so much for the watch!

She does look kinda strange in a dress especially the square dancin' one! If she DID wear a dress, I wouldn't think it would be a knee-length one like that.

mmmpapimay In reply to Vega-Three [2010-06-23 23:11:21 +0000 UTC]
I hate JPGs too! They distort the color and it's so ugly PNG is better but all cameras save their photos in JPG format by default.
I'll take a look at them now!

Haven't loaded 'em yet, lol. I got a journal stating a person I watch was streaming TS3 sketches. 8D
My camera makes them JPEGs, and they're HUGE! So when ya resize 'em they're great quality. BUT I reset it to a lower res to get more photos on my card and it auto-sized them. D:

Awesome! They look so cool. XD My dad brought me to Toys R Us and I have Jessie, Bullseye, Woody, and Buzz. I AM GOING TO WRITE ANDY'S NAME ON WOODY'S FOOT DANGIT. XD
But anyway, these are really cute pictures. I also love how Jessie isn't wearing her hat. Lol. I have that Jessie doll and her hat is just like SEE YA LATER, I DON'T FEEL LIKE STAYING ON JESSIE'S HEAD. And I'm like FFFF.

MAKE SURE YOU GET A STILL OF WHEN HE IS LOOKING AT ANDY'S NAME ON HIS BOOT AND DO THE FONT PRECISELY!
And do Bullseye too! Omg! I want a Bullseye hehe. I can't wait to see them. WE CAN GIVE THEM ALTERNATE PERSONALITIES.
Ikr! Jessie's hat is so moody. I always took it off in NY when I slept with her because I was afraid of losing it. And her belt and boots come off too! (If you got the 12inch one) So I took those off too. Then I roll up her pants and sleeves and that's her pajama outfit
And thank you.

Aha, that's funny. Also, I think she's like some variation of a Barbie doll. XD Her BELT comes off TOO? XD Jeez. I found out that he boots came off and I was like "Neat!" Lol that's cute, she has a pajama outfit. 8D
