Description

Pointillism is an artistic technique in which various size dots of pure color are used  to achieve various affects. It originated in the Impressionist era with major artists such as Georges Seurat and Paul Signac. Early pieces were done using paint brushes; now it is also done with other mediums, such as jelly beans, push pins, bottle caps, pebbles, foam pop corn packing materials  ...or in this case--computer pixels courtesy of Photoshop.

I have been examining this piece for some time but before I could provide your requested critique I had to become somewhat familiar with "Slender Man". Always points for describing the applied technique and also for the brief lesson on "Pointillism". I believe that it is very important to explain how a work is done. The forest setting has true sense of depth and draws the observer into the frame where Slender Man is discovered lurking and possibly poised to make a flanking attack. Gray scale variations are very pronounced yet properly blended. In this case I presume you have put his face out of the frame because he is faceless. Nice touch. As for myself I am intrigued my the rumored "quantum" aspects of his proposed nature. No Villain like one not fully known or understood. This is a good piece.

Thank you so much for the thorough critque, I never thought it would get so much attention so soon.  I think Slenderman might be a dark fae rather than an alien which takes delight in terrifying humans who happened to stray in gloomy woody places.  There's other stories about faceless bogeymen lurking around in the lonely places such as the Japanese faceless ghost, or yōkai or the Chinese hundun, a faceless creature with multiple limbs and without human senses described as  the "personification of chaos."  There's even a faceless woman referred to as a "Mujina"were reported in Kahala, Hawaii.
