Eh, it's okay. I'm not going to chide an artist for putting effort into a drawing. After all look at most game and anime companies. They do the same thing. Deltora Quest, for example, is where the anime deviates a bit from the color scheme of the book (protagonist is not supposed to be blonde). XD
But yes, the human/dragon bonding time. My favorite parts. :3

Aw, the dragon looks like he (she? it?) is enjoying the book.
My favourite part though is that bit of blank space on the left (a sail...?). it's so delicately shaded and with such a careful mix of colour, nothing ever overwhelms your mix, just adds to it.

Everyone loves the sail cloth! @.@ I have received more complements regarding that sail than on anything else in the whole of the illustration! Apparently, I can PAINT A SAIL LIKE ITS NOBODY'S BUISNESS! Is it your buisness? NO. Its mine! Sail painting!
