Description
This is somewhat of a folow-up to my previous image of the Day siblings together. Dim Day had sent off her brother and sister and proceeded to investigate a purportedly cursed ice cavern on behalf of the earth pony village called Sombre Slopes. According to the villagers, some evil magic inside the cave was responsible for a string of tragedies and the death of most of their crops.

I will probably draw more images from Dim Day's story, but I'll say that within the cave she discovered an ancient power and a secret from her mother's side of the family. This also gives a peek into Dim Day's "occupation" before she broke her horn. She never made the Royal Guard, to the disappointment of her mother, but she was always more sympathetic to the common pony than to the Princess or nobility so that did not bother her. Instead, she dedicated herself to, essentially, community service. She travelled to the less prosperous corners of Equestria - various small settlements and villages of, mostly, earth ponies - helping out however she could. Dim Day never asked for money in return for her work, instead requesting food and humble board, if they were available. The lavish cloak she is wearing in the image was a gift from her father, who was actually quite proud of her. It was rare for her to deal with magical or monstrous threats such as she is in the image. Usually ponies asked for more domestic services. However, because she is one of the very few unicorns Sombre Slopes trusts, she was sent to deal with the magic in the cave.

As for the image itself, it is the first all-digital work I've attempted in a very long time. I usually hate drawing digitally, I can't seem to get the hang of it. But, I figured I should start practicing since I'm out of paint and canvas. I'm not totally pleased with the result. I was just sort of sick of working on it, and it's not even terribly detailed.
