I, at first glance, was not a terribly intimidating person. She was only a human, after all, and a rather diminuitive one at that. She barely stood higher than five feet tall, though her heels helped give her a little bit more stature. Her hair – pulled back in a severe bun, as usual – was steely gray, though she didn't look quite old enough to have gotten the shade through age alone. Dark glasses hid her eyes – it was rumored even among the other Masques that none of the current ones had seen her without the dark lenses, even indoors. A severe frown pulled down the corners of her mouth, her face falling into set creases. Aides and managers alike scurried to get out of her path.

Everyone in this building – anyone who worked with the Masques and knew of I, really – knew to respect this seemingly unassuming woman in her white suit. It was her job and not her looks or stature or species that inspired such fearful awe: she was the Masque that kept all the others in line, who took care of the errant ones. She was more than just an administrator; she was the enforcer.
