It's all about the hair...That is a circular red rug in my bedroom. The floor is white so I burned it black. The hair is real.

I adore this image, there's a stillness, a powerful silence that really forces you to admire just how delicate she is. Of course the hair is amazing, painstackingly intricate, but I am so drawn to the hand at her chest. It points to her heart, to the place where the color red is often symbolized by. And it's such an intimate gesture, emphasized by the veil of hair that shyly obscures her gorgeous face.
The only thing that distracts me from how amazing this image is, is the hard line around the edge of the rug, though I know it would be difficult to effectively eliminate.
Either way, amazing work, as usual.

I kind of like the edge of the rug myself because it sort of gives the keys to the mystery. I suppose it would be more about fantasy if it *wasn't* there... but perhaps I like the idea of fantastic reality more... or something. If that makes sense.

You pose a compelling arguement, and in light of that, I can see how the rim of the rug really does work into the picture. Incorporating such an ethereal figure into a 'mundane' everyday object, something real, tangible, flawed, really does make this work.
