Cat and Mike had a bouncy baby boy, 7lb 8oz, on 19 December. The perfect Christmas gift.

This Christmas, my sister-in-law gave my mother the gift of a sonogram in a frame. This was after having an ectopic pregnancy and not being able to get pregnant for the following two years. Although I'm more than aware of how great this is for my brother and sis-in-law, the news of a grand-baby was the best Christmas gift my mother could have ever received.
This image is a reflection of the joy experienced at discovering the addition to a family and the hope we hold for a healthy pregnancy. It's simple, but profound. In particular, I love the position of the hands, as it appears to be a preview of the mother holding the child. This really conveys the love felt for the unborn and the anticipation of his arrival.

My mother frequently says how wonderful it was to give birth.
