Shifu: "Every Master must find his own path to inner peace.... Some find it through pain and suffering as I did. Po, the day you were chosen as Dragon Warrior, was the worst day of my life...by far. Nothing else came close. It was the worst most painful, mind destroying, horrible moment-"Po: "Oookay."
Shifu:"-I have ever experienced." [shudders]
Loved that scene and the new movie in general. It turned out just as good, if not better than, the last one.

As much as I liked that scene it always bothered me that Shifu would say that that was the worst day of his life because it wasn't. I'm pretty sure his Master's death was a worse thing as well as his son's betrayal. Still, great pic and the expressions are hilarious!

I've thought this too, but perhaps Shifu felt as if those two events were easier to cope with because they were within his realm of comprehension. An old friend dying and an arrogant son's betrayal, while painful, are not difficult to understand. Shifu knows that life is fleeting, thus his Master's passing can be accepted. He knows that arrogance can lead to cruelty, and so his son's actions are also able to be accepted. But Po being the Dragon Warrior is something that he can't accept. It grates heavily against his view of reality and almost mocks the fact that his son and his students weren't chosen. Hence why I think he feels that this day was his worst. That's just how I've rationalized it though.

Shifu totally deserved more screen time in this one, I wanted to see his new life as the new Oogway.

Yeah, though I loved the movie, I really missed Shifu! Though he wouldn't really have had a purpose in that plot. Him going with them would have made it seem like he didn't have faith in his students. Hopefully he'll be in the next one a lot!
